This policy explains what JobScans.in (the "Service" — our website and browser extension) collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Account info: when you sign in with Google we receive your email address and a user identifier, used to create your account and track your credit balance.
- Your CV and job descriptions: when you run a fitment score, improve your CV, or generate a cover letter, the text of your CV and the relevant job descriptions are sent to our backend to perform that action.
- Your saved profile: if you save a profile (name, summary, work experience, education, skills), we store that structured profile on your account so it's available across your devices. You can edit or clear it any time.
- Payment info: purchases are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details; we store a record of the purchase (amount, credits, status).
How we use it
- To authenticate you and manage your credit balance.
- To generate fitment scores, tailored CV edits, and cover letters (this sends the CV/job text to our AI processing provider).
- To process payments and grant purchased credits.
Data retention
We store your account email, user ID, credit ledger, purchase records, and — if you choose to save one — your structured profile. We do not store your uploaded CV file or the job descriptions; that text is processed transiently to fulfil your request and is not retained afterward.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with the service providers that operate the Service on our behalf — our backend host (Supabase), our AI processing provider (Google, via the Gemini API), and our payment processor (Razorpay) — solely to deliver the features you request.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email above.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date.
