The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL development, data processing, data warehousing, and enterprise-scale data engineering solutions. The role requires expertise in Ab Initio development, SQL, UNIX scripting, CI/CD practices, and Agile delivery methodologies to build and support robust, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. - **Role: Ab Initio ETL Developer** - **Location: Pune/Chennai** - **Experience: 5 to 8 Years** - **Job Type: Full Time Employment** **What You'll Do:** - As an Ab Initio ETL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering enterprise data engineering solutions. - You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, architects, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of high-quality data products. - Design, develop, and maintain ETL solutions using Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE). - Analyse and implement source-to-target mapping requirements for data integration projects. - Build and support data processing solutions across on-premises and cloud-based environments. - Develop reusable and scalable ETL frameworks and components. - Write, optimise, and maintain complex SQL queries and database objects. - Develop UNIX shell scripts to automate routine operational and data processing tasks. - Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI for automated deployments. - Utilise version control systems including Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket for source code management. - Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and engineering teams to define requirements and evaluate solution feasibility. - Participate actively in sprint planning, estimation, and Agile ceremonies. - Perform unit testing, integration testing, and ensure adherence to quality standards. - Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices across the development lifecycle. **Expertise You'll Bring:** - We are looking for a passionate data engineering professional with strong ETL development expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and experience delivering high-quality enterprise data solutions. - Strong experience in ETL, Data Processing, Data Warehousing, and Data Engineering. - Hands-on expertise in Ab Initio GDE, including graph design, development, testing, and deployment. - Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping and ETL design principles. - Experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based data platforms. - Advanced SQL skills with expertise in performance tuning and query optimisation. - Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS). - Hands-on experience with UNIX shell scripting. - Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms. - Proficiency with version control systems including Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket. - Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and JIRA. - Ability to design, develop, test, and deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions. - Strong focus on quality, performance, scalability, maintainability, and security. - Experience conducting code reviews and implementing engineering best practices. - Ability to define and implement Definition of Done, including unit testing, integration testing, and non-functional quality standards. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. **Benefits:** - Competitive salary and benefits package - Culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications - Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies - Employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards - Annual health check-ups - Insurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalisation for self, spouse, two children, and parents **Values-Driven, People-Centric & Inclusive Work Environment:** Persistent is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
