**Role & responsibilities** - Define and manage **type certification** program: Structured verification for multiple tiers - product, systems, sub-systems **including but not limited to electrical machines and control systems**. - Define certification strategy: Validation of product compliance including safety, certification, customer and maturity requirements. - Produce and manage certification programme: Produce an **optimum experimental plan** to address the requirements. - Cross-functional oversight of physical and analytical verification activities. Ensure alignment of instrumentation, hardware and physical tests as well as **event investigations** to meet requirements of the program. - Certification evidence: Integrate teams across all engineering disciplines to deliver compliance evidence including reports for airworthiness certification. Analyze and interpret information and data from various sources including tests and analyses for effective engineering assessments. - Actively promote, encourage and support continuous engineering improvements across global team. **Technical Skills:** - Aerospace / Gas turbine verification and validation electrical machines preferred. - Airworthiness certification regulations - **CS-25/CS-23/CS-E/RTCA DO-254/DO-178/ED-79 EASA and/or FAA** for type certification. - **Strong technical communication and report writing skills** - Familiarity with aero-engine and airframe hardware and systems. - Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems in area of **products including electrical machines**. - Knowledge or experience of the systems engineering, structured verification, design of experiments (DoE) and assembly/testing of gas turbine and/or equivalent systems will be an advantage. - Familiarity with tools such as MBSE, DOORS, PLM (TeamCentre), mechanical as well as electrical **tests configuration and management systems**. - Experience with aerospace test vehicle **build configuration management, strip reporting and test data analysis/monitoring**.
