Software Engineer, AI/MLIndia Role Overview:This role advances large scale conversational AI systems that power intelligent customer and employee interactions across thousands of organisations worldwide. You will build and optimise production grade AI services that improve intent understanding, response quality, and system reliability at scale. At Genesys, we combine empathy with AI innovation to create meaningful experiences, and this role contributes directly to how people engage with businesses globally. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering and applied machine learning, influencing architecture decisions, model performance, and platform scalability. The position offers strong exposure to enterprise AI systems, modern LLM frameworks, and cross functional collaboration with product, research, and design teams, creating clear pathways for technical growth and increased ownership. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop scalable AI driven systems that improve conversational accuracy and user experience across global platforms • Build and optimise real time and asynchronous AI pipelines to enhance system performance, latency, and reliability • Develop clean, maintainable backend services and APIs that integrate AI capabilities into distributed microservice architectures • Deploy and manage cloud native microservices on AWS to ensure high availability and resilience of AI systems • Fine tune and optimise large language models to improve inference efficiency and production readiness • Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and engineers to translate AI innovations into production grade solutions • Monitor, evaluate, and improve AI workflows to drive measurable gains in performance, scalability, and operational efficiency • Contribute to the evolution of conversational AI, agentic systems, and natural language processing capabilities within the platform Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; or a Master's/Ph.D. with 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred. • Proficiency in Python with experience in backend development. • Understanding of software engineering principles, system architecture, and distributed computing. • Experience working with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.). • Experience in fine-tuning LLMs and solid understanding of inference frameworks like vLLM • Good knowledge of API development and microservice architecture. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
