The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs throughout the organization and oversees risk ownership throughout business units, products, and processes. The objective of the Issues & Events team is to define, govern, and continuously enhance the Issues and Events Management Program as a second-line risk management function, partnering closely with first- and third-line stakeholders. The Executive Insights function supports the delivery of executive reporting, management insights, and governance materials across the Issues & Events organization. The team produces timely, accurate reporting; supports metric governance; analyzes trends and risk data; and provides actionable insights to senior leadership and governance forums. ORM is looking for an Analyst, Executive Insights, to support recurring reporting, dashboard production, data validation, and insight generation for the Issues & Events organization. This role will help deliver accurate and timely reporting materials, perform data analysis, maintain reporting artifacts, and support governance routines across operational risk issue and event management. Reporting to the Manager/Director, Issues & Events Program, the ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capability, attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to work with data and stakeholders in a structured, controlled environment. This role requires collaboration across ORM teams and business partners to support consistent, high-quality reporting outputs. - Experience or demonstrated interest in reporting, analytics, operational risk, governance, business insights, or a related function. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with high attention to detail. - Ability to organize information clearly and translate data into concise insights for stakeholders. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to reporting, visualization, or business intelligence tools preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage timelines, follow procedures, and work effectively in a matrixed environment. - Comfortable leveraging AI-powered tools and solutions responsibly to enhance productivity, strengthen analysis, and improve the quality of outcomes, while adhering to organizational policies, data privacy requirements, and ethical AI practices. - Bachelor's/Master’s degree from a reputed Tier 1 institute. **Preferred Qualifications** - 1-2 Years of Experience with Operational Risk Management, Issue Management, Event Management, governance reporting, or risk metrics. - Experience with data visualization, dashboard maintenance, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar tools. - Understanding of data quality, documentation discipline, and control-oriented reporting processes. - Ability to work independently, ask effective questions, and escalate risks or data concerns in a timely manner. - ORMCM At American Express, our culture is built on a 175-year history of innovation, shared values and Leadership Behaviors, and an unwavering commitment to back our customers, communities, and colleagues.
