**Exp Range: 5 to 10 years** **Location: Hyderabad.** **Ready to relocate to Hyderabad also can apply.** **Job Summary** We are looking for a skilled API Test Engineer to validate and ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of APIs. The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and automating API test cases using modern testing tools and frameworks. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, develop, and execute **API test cases** for REST and/or SOAP services - Perform **functional, integration, regression, and performance testing** of APIs - Validate API responses, status codes, headers, and payloads - Automate API test cases using tools such as **Postman, RestAssured, or Karate** - Work closely with developers and product teams to understand API requirements - Identify, report, and track defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) - Validate data consistency across services and databases - Participate in **CI/CD pipeline integration** for automated tests - Ensure API security and authentication testing (OAuth, JWT, etc.) - Create and maintain test documentation and reports **Required Skills** - Strong understanding of **API testing concepts** - Experience with **REST APIs, JSON, XML** - Hands-on experience with tools like: - Postman - SOAP UI - RestAssured / Karate / Newman - Knowledge of **HTTP methods** (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH) - Experience with **automation frameworks** - Understanding of **status codes and API validations** - Basic knowledge of **databases (SQL queries)** - Familiarity with **Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines** - Strong analytical and debugging skills **Good to Have** - Programming knowledge in **Java, Python, or JavaScript** - Experience with **performance testing tools** (JMeter, LoadRunner) - Understanding of **microservices architecture** - Knowledge of **Docker/Kubernetes** - Experience with **BDD frameworks (Cucumber)** **Education** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field **Soft Skills** - Strong communication skills - Detail-oriented mindset - Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environment - Problem-solving attitude **Tools & Technologies** - API Tools: Postman, SOAP UI - Automation: RestAssured, Karate - CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions - Defect Tracking: JIRA - Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL
