You’ll work alongside talented professionals reimagining and re-engineering operations and processes that could be critical to businesses. **Position Summary:** **Role: Lead Architect** As a Lead Architect, you will serve as a technical leader for large-scale mainframe application engagements, helping clients design, modernize, and deliver enterprise technology solutions. You will lead complex workstreams, guide teams across delivery locations, and contribute to high-quality outcomes aligned to client and business needs. This role also includes mentoring team members, advising stakeholders, and supporting the growth of Deloitte’s Engineering as a Service practice **Work you'll do** As a Lead Architect on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for: - Lead architecture, design, and delivery of mainframe application solutions for large-scale enterprise engagements. - Define end-to-end solution approaches across mainframe technologies, including application, database, batch, and transaction processing components. - Manage technical delivery across onsite and offshore teams, including work planning, solution reviews, and issue resolution. - Advise clients on mainframe modernization strategies, including integration, optimization, and hybrid architecture approaches. - Facilitate architecture discussions, technical workshops, and stakeholder reviews to support program delivery and decision-making. **The team** Engineering as a Service provides complete design, implementation, and technology operations, leveraging our core engineering expertise. We transform engineering teams, modernize technology, and deliver complex programs with a product engineering approach. Our flexible delivery models—traditional teams, pools, or pods—are tailored to each client’s needs, offering engineering-led advisory, implementation, and operational capabilities to accelerate innovation. **Location: Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune/Chennai** **Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM and 2 PM to 11 PM** **Qualifications** Required: - 10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development, architecture, and delivery, with at least 3-4 years in a technical lead or architect capacity. - Deep expertise in z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS, VSAM, Sysplex, LPAR Design, Capacity Planning and Enterprise Architecture, with demonstrated ability to design and review enterprise-grade solutions. - Proficiency with debugging and development tools: File-Aid, Xpeditor, Abend-AID; schedulers; and source/version control systems such as Endevor and Changeman. - Proven experience leading client engagements and managing onsite/offshore delivery teams. - Strong command of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies as applied to mainframe programs. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experienced in facilitating workshops, architecture reviews, and executive briefings. - Demonstrated ability to identify industry trends, technology disruptors, and articulate their relevance to current client engagements. - BE / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc (CS) or equivalent degree from an accredited university. Preferred: - Experience with mainframe modernization initiatives — legacy re-platforming, API-layer integration, or migration to hybrid cloud architectures. - Advanced expertise in DB2 tuning, MQ integration, batch optimization, or automation via REXX scripting. - Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and practical application in code modernization, anomaly detection, or intelligent automation contexts. - Experience contributing to proposals, RFP responses, or practice-building initiatives. - Experience with Assembler - Relevant certifications: SAFe for Architects, or equivalent. **#FY27ReferralCampaign** #2027\\_AI&E\\_Dscreen **Our purpose** Deloitte’s purpose is to make an impact that matters for our people, clients, and communities.
