**Description** Join GlobalLogic, to be a valid part of the team working on a huge software project for the world-class company providing M2M / IoT 4G/5G modules e.g. to the automotive, healthcare and logistics industries. Through our engagement, we contribute to our customer in developing the end-user modules’ firmware, implementing new features, maintaining compatibility with the newest telecommunication and industry standards, as well as performing analysis and estimations of the customer requirements. **Requirements** Technical Leadership & Ownership Led the modernization of large-scale enterprise backend systems, migrating 104+ ASMX and WCF services to CoreWCF on .NET 6 / .NET 8 Acted as technical owner for service migration strategy, ensuring 100% SOAP/WSDL backward compatibility Provided technical guidance to developers on legacy code refactoring, WCF internals, and modern DI-based patterns Legacy Migration & Refactoring Reverse-engineered complex WCF and ASMX services, including: Custom behaviors Message inspectors Instance management Channel and pipeline configurations Refactored legacy WCF components into ASP.NET Core dependency injection patterns Identified and eliminated Windows-only dependencies (Registry, GAC, file system assumptions, impersonation) Architecture & Dependency Management Analyzed large monolithic / monorepo codebases Broke circular dependencies and extracted shared logic into versioned NuGet packages Designed modular dependency structures enabling independent service builds Reduced build times significantly by optimizing dependency graphs and build pipelines Platform & Containerization Enabled services to run on Linux environments Containerized .NET services using Docker Authored optimized Dockerfiles Implemented container-based service communication Working knowledge of C# and .NET Framework Basic backend development understanding Awareness of SOAP, XML, and web services Basic OOP concepts Willingness to learn legacy systems and modern .NET technologies Good problem-solving and communication skills **Preferred Skills** Exposure to WCF or ASMX (academic or project experience) Introductory knowledge of ASP.NET Core Basic understanding of Git Exposure to unit testing frameworks Awareness of Docker or Linux (nice to have) Tech Stack C#, .NET Framework WCF / ASMX (learning level) SOAP, XML ASP.NET Core (basic) Unit testing frameworks Git version control Job responsibilities Assist in understanding and updating existing WCF / ASMX services Implement assigned changes under guidance from senior team members Help refactor legacy code into cleaner, maintainable components Support SOAP service compatibility and XML-based contracts Write unit tests for backend components Fix bugs and support minor enhancements Follow coding standards, documentation, and review feedback What we offer **Exciting Projects:** We focus on industries like High-Tech, communication, media, healthcare, retail and telecom.
