**Position Overview** We are seeking an experienced AS400/RPG Developer to join our Back Office Systems Department in Chennai. As an AS400 Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain applications on the AS400 platform, contributing to new developments and enhancements of existing systems. You will work within a structured delivery framework, ensuring high-quality development, performance, and reliability of solutions. This role combines legacy system expertise with modern development practices and collaboration in an international environment. **Job Responsibilities** - Develop, maintain, and improve applications on the AS400 platform - Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment) - Deliver new features and enhancements for existing applications - Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of developed solutions - Provide support and troubleshooting for production issues - Participate in effort estimation and technical design - Collaborate with local and international teams to achieve project goals - Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and knowledge sharing **Required Skills and Experience** - 4.5 - 8 years of experience in AS400 platform development - Strong experience with RPG/CL programming (ILE RPG, ILE CL) - Knowledge of SQL and DB2 for AS400 - Experience with modular development and code reuse practices - Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field - Fluent English (written and spoken) - Ability to work within structured development frameworks (Agile/Waterfall) - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Good communication and collaboration skills **Good to Have Skills and Experience** - Experience with ADELIA Studio framework (training can be provided) - Understanding of ETL processes and Data Warehouse concepts - Basic knowledge of SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) - Experience with code quality and best practices awareness - Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks **About the Company** BNP Paribas is a leading European bank with a global presence, operating in 65 countries with nearly 185,000 employees.
