Role: Assistant Manager, Design (Principal Designer / Jr. Art Director) Band level: P2 Hiring timeframe: As soon as possible Team supporting: CVG Sales Enablement Design Org Job Overview The Assistant Manager, Design is responsible for the strategic design and development of materials used across our global sales pursuits, directly impacting revenue opportunities for a Fortune 200 company. While this role is not a people management role, this person will play a creative leadership role within our design organization, similar to a Jr. Art Director, working alongside our Graphic Design Directors, Design Team Manager and Art Director, and our global sales teams. This role requires strong skills in art direction, stakeholder management, and strategic communications, with an emphasis on designing documents, infographics, sophisticated PowerPoint presentations, and proposal material. Additional focus includes end-to-end video management, including editing, motion graphics, and a high level of production experience. Position requires individual to work with and manage a variety of team contributors including graphic designers, graphics coordinators and various levels of management. This role directly reports to our Design Team Manager, and works closely with our Graphic Design Directors in the UK and US. They will work side-by-side with our global design team, taking design direction from our Graphic Design Directors and/or independently directing other designers, maintaining close, day-to-day communication with clients and team to ensure creative alignment on projects and adherence to best practices. They will partner with Sales and Pursuit team members in a virtual capacity, and must be comfortable with virtual working arrangements. The Principal Designer must seek to understand business objectives, including strategy, audience, and key themes behind more complex design projects, and provide appropriate solutions with minimal art direction. Leadership responsibilities will be assigned for specific areas depending on the person’s expertise and career development goals. Key Responsibilities • Brainstorming: Participates in and initiates client team discussion to help brainstorm key messages and provides thought leadership to the team to ensure message is easily conveyed. • Design: Designs customized or JLL-branded deliverables per client’s needs that visually capture the message to be conveyed in documents and presentations. • Quality: Work produced should be on brief, on time, on target to business objectives, and elevate JLL’s presence with innovative and high levels of design aesthetic. • Video: Leads video and motion graphic projects with innovative solutions, video platform expertise, strong project management skills, technical prowess, and future-focused adaptation to new technologies and techniques. • Presentations: Designs sophisticated PowerPoint presentations that incorporate builds, transitions, hyperlinking and animations when appropriate. • Client Service: Provides exceptional client service, meets own deadlines, and works to proactively identify issues that impact time service commitments for the team. • Management Collaboration: Interacts with department management and senior leadership effectively and proactively. Works in close partnership with members of pursuit teams, including Sales, Sales Enablement, and Solution Management/Sales Engineering, helping with creative strategy on deals and ensuring creative alignment with win themes. • Innovation: Upholds and strives to innovate within brand standard guidelines and established operational procedures. • Project Ownership: Takes on full ownership and day-to-day project management of assigned work. • Leadership: Provides art direction on assigned projects and supports the development of more junior designers by assisting with trouble-shooting, technical execution and creative conception. An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications Desired experience and technical skills • Bachelor's degree in Art or Design/Visual Communications • A minimum of 7 years’ prior graphics experience, preferably in a corporate, highly-matrixed environment • Proven leadership in design, video, motion graphics, and project management, along with demonstrated working knowledge of the business • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, etc., and the Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.
