**Designation: Assistant Manager, Quality (Machining | AS9100)** Reporting to Manager - Quality Job Location: Peenya, Bangalore **Experience Range:** 5 to 10 years **Educational Qualification:** Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Overall **product quality ownership** for **machining and mechanical manufacturing processes** in compliance with **the AS9100 Quality Management System**. - Ensure adherence to **AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific aerospace requirements**. - Lead **New Product Development (NPD)** activities, including **process validation, gauge planning, and inspection strategy**. - Manage **NPD prove-out**, **First Article Inspection (FAI/FAIR as per AS9102)** documentation, and customer approvals. - Develop and maintain **inspection plans, control plans, and check sheets** for machining and assembly operations. - Lead and mentor the **inspection and quality team** with a strong focus on **process assurance and defect prevention**. - Interpret and apply **engineering drawings, product acceptance standards, and GD&T** as per **ASME Y14.5 & ISO 1101**. - Conduct **in-process, final, and layout inspections** for machining and assembly components. - Ensure effective **handling, segregation, and disposition of Non-Conforming (NC) products** in line with AS9100 requirements. - Perform **root cause analysis** using **7 QC tools, 8D, fishbone, and why-why analysis**, and drive **corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)**. - Strong working knowledge of **casting, forging, CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding**, and related processes. - Familiarity with **measuring instruments** such as Vernier, Micrometre, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Profile Projector, CMM, etc. - Knowledge of **special processes** such as **plating, passivation, brazing, heat treatment, wire cutting,** and supplier quality control (preferred). - Support **internal, customer, and third-party audits** related to **AS9100** and drive continual improvement initiatives.
