**Job Description** **Senior Infrastructure Architect / L4 Infrastructure Lead** **Position Overview** We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect / L4 Infrastructure Lead to serve as a technical leader and escalation point across our infrastructure operations and transformation initiatives. This role requires a well-rounded infrastructure professional with deep expertise across virtualization, storage, backup, cloud, networking, and datacenter technologies. The ideal candidate will act as a client-facing technical advisor, capable of driving architecture discussions, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, leading major incident resolution efforts, and providing strategic guidance for infrastructure modernization initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** **Technical Leadership** - Serve as the highest-level (L3/L4) infrastructure escalation resource for critical incidents and complex technical challenges. - Lead root cause analysis and problem management activities for infrastructure-related issues. - Provide technical oversight and guidance to infrastructure operations teams. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure platforms. **Client Engagement** - Act as the primary technical interface for client infrastructure discussions. - Participate in governance meetings, technical reviews, and architecture workshops. - Present infrastructure strategies, recommendations, and roadmaps to client stakeholders. - Translate business requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions. **Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering** - Design, implement, and optimize enterprise infrastructure solutions. - Evaluate existing environments and recommend modernization opportunities. - Support infrastructure transformation, migration, consolidation, and cloud adoption initiatives. - Develop infrastructure standards, best practices, and operational procedures. **Required Technical Expertise** **Virtualization** - Deep expertise in VMware technologies including: - VMware vSphere - ESXi - vCenter - vMotion - HA/DRS - VMware lifecycle management - Experience with virtualization architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. **Storage** - Strong experience with enterprise storage platforms. - SAN/NAS architecture and administration. - Storage performance analysis and optimization. - Capacity planning and disaster recovery considerations. **Backup & Recovery** - Expertise in enterprise backup and recovery solutions. - Backup strategy design and implementation. - Disaster recovery planning and testing. - Recovery orchestration and data protection best practices. **Networking** - Strong understanding of: - TCP/IP networking - Routing and switching concepts - VLANs - Firewalls - Load balancers - DNS/DHCP - Network troubleshooting **Cloud Platforms** - Hands-on experience with one or more public cloud platforms: - Microsoft Azure - Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Hybrid cloud architecture and migration experience. - Cloud governance, security, and cost optimization. **Operating Systems** - Advanced administration of: - Windows Server - Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE, etc.) **Preferred Qualifications** - 12+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience. - Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments. - Experience leading infrastructure transformation projects. - Strong architecture and solution-design capabilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work across multiple technology towers and coordinate with specialized teams. **Desired Certifications** **One Or More Of The Following Is Highly Desirable** - VMware Certified Professional (VCP) / VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) - Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect - AWS Solutions Architect Professional - Cisco CCNP/CCIE - TOGAF - ITIL Expert/Managing Professional - Storage vendor certifications (Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, etc.) **Candidate Profile** **Role** This is not a siloed technology role. We are looking for a seasoned infrastructure leader with broad cross-domain expertise who can: - Engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders. - Operate as an L4 escalation engineer and technical authority. - Troubleshoot across infrastructure towers rather than focusing on a single technology. - Design and architect enterprise-grade solutions. - Provide strategic guidance while remaining hands-on when required.
