The Associate Consultant Neurology is responsible for providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with neurological disorders. The role involves inpatient and outpatient care, emergency neurological consultations, participation in multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to clinical excellence, patient safety, teaching, and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities - Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders. - Conduct OPD consultations and provide inpatient neurological care. - Attend neurological emergencies, including stroke, seizures, altered sensorium, and neuromuscular emergencies. - Interpret neurological investigations such as EEG, EMG/NCV, CT, MRI, and other neurodiagnostic tests. - Develop evidence-based treatment plans and monitor patient progress. - Participate in stroke management protocols and collaborate with emergency and critical care teams. - Perform neurological procedures as per institutional privileges and competency. - Coordinate with Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, Radiology, and other specialties for multidisciplinary patient management. - Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation. - Ensure compliance with NABH, infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies. - Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and preventive care. - Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, clinical audits, mortality meetings, and research initiatives. - Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, interns, and allied healthcare staff. - Participate in on-call duties and provide emergency neurological services as per the duty roster. Qualifications - **DM/DNB (Neurology)** from a recognized institution. - Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) registration. Experience - **0–5 years** of experience after DM/DNB in Neurology. - Experience in managing stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, headache disorders, neuroimmunology, neuromuscular disorders, and neurocritical care will be preferred.
