Job description

**About The Role** redBus is India's largest online bus ticketing platform, moving millions of travellers across 150,000+ live routes globally. A meaningful share of our growth now comes from platforms we don't fully control ourselves — B2B2C seller tools, partner APIs, whitelabels, OTAs, and super-app integrations — where product decisions are inseparable from technical architecture decisions. We are looking for a Technical Product Lead who is equally comfortable writing a crisp PRD and reading an API contract or a data pipeline diagram. This role sits at the intersection of classic product management — roadmaps, prioritisation, stakeholder alignment — and the deeper technical fluency needed to partner credibly with engineering on system design, integrations, and platform scalability. You'll own both the “low-hanging” product requirements that keep the roadmap moving and the harder technical trade-offs that determine whether it scales. **Key Responsibilities** - Product Roadmap Ownership – Define, prioritise, and execute the product roadmap for partner-facing and distribution platforms, balancing quick-win requirements against longer-horizon technical investments. - Technical Depth in Product Decisions – Partner directly with engineering on API design, data flow pipelines, and system architecture; be able to evaluate technical trade-offs (latency, scalability, integration complexity) rather than relying solely on engineering estimates. - Requirement Documentation – Write PRDs, user stories, API specifications, and wireframes; define clear acceptance criteria and success metrics for every release. - Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration – Work across engineering, design, sales, partner/BD, CRM, payments, and supplier-facing teams to align the roadmap within the broader product framework. – Engage directly with external partners (OTAs, travel platforms, super apps, and aggregators) to curate integration requirements and merchandising offerings. - Data-Driven Iteration – Run and analyse A/B tests across web, mobile web, and apps; build dashboards and hypotheses using SQL and product analytics tools to guide decisions. – Continuously monitor product and platform performance metrics, using them to prioritise the backlog. - Quality, Launch & Enablement – Establish acceptance criteria and work with QA to ensure releases meet both business and technical bars before going live. – Train internal stakeholders (Support, Channel, Field teams) on new features to ensure smooth rollouts. **What You Bring** - 1–3 years of experience spanning both software engineering/development and product management — candidates from a strong technical background moving into product, or PMs with genuine hands-on engineering experience, are equally welcome. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech); an MBA is a plus but not a substitute for technical depth. - Working knowledge of APIs, system design fundamentals, and data pipelines — enough to have a substantive technical conversation with engineering, not just consume their output. - Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with web/app analytics and experimentation tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or similar). - Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum practices — backlog grooming, sprint planning, and PDLC end to end. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical constraints into business language and vice versa. - Business acumen to understand how distribution, partnerships, and platform decisions tie back to revenue and growth. **Why This Role** This is a role for someone who doesn't want to choose between being a “product person” and a “technical person.” You'll own real product outcomes — roadmaps, launches, partner relationships — while staying close enough to the architecture to make the calls that matter. If you're energised by both the business “why” and the engineering “how,” we'd love to talk.
