This role requires deep expertise in both manual and automation testing, with a strong focus on building scalable test solutions and influencing quality across the development lifecycle. While this is not a people management role, the candidate is expected to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices guidance. Responsibilities - Design and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for complex applications. - Perform thorough manual and automated testing to ensure high product quality. - Develop, maintain, and scale automation frameworks using Playwright (MCPs) and Cypress. - Own end-to-end quality assurance for features, from requirement analysis to production validation. - Write, review, and maintain high-quality test cases in Jira; ensure completeness and traceability. - Conduct peer reviews of test cases and automation scripts to maintain standards (without formal team management). - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, DevOps) to improve testability and quality. - Drive defect management lifecycle including reporting, triaging, and validation. - Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing. - Identify risks, bottlenecks, and gaps in QA processes and propose effective solutions. - Leverage AI tools to accelerate testing, improve coverage, and optimize QA workflows. Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 4+ years of experience in software testing (manual + automation). - Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright (MCPs) and Cypress (mandatory). - Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks. - Strong experience in writing and managing test cases in Jira. - Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript. - Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC. - Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured. - Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Preferred Qualifications/ Skills - Experience working in a consulting or client-facing role. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. - Experience reviewing and improving test coverage across teams. - Exposure to AI-driven testing tools and modern QA accelerators. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. - Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs). - Strong communication skills.
