**Role & responsibilities** : - **Design & Develop Automated Tests**: Create robust, reusable, and maintainable automated test scripts using Python. - **Test Framework Management**: Build, configure, and maintain automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework, Behave). - **Integration with CI/CD**: Integrate automated tests into continuous integration pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). - **Collaboration**: Work closely with developers, QA teams, and product owners to define test strategies and acceptance criteria. - **Quality Advocacy**: Act as a quality gatekeeper, ensuring software meets functional and non-functional requirements. **Responsibilities** **Test Script Development** - Write automated test cases for functional, regression, API, and UI testing. - Use Python libraries like unittest, pytest, selenium, requests, or playwright. **Framework Enhancement** - Maintain and improve automation frameworks for scalability and reusability. - Implement data-driven, keyword-driven, or BDD approaches. **Test Execution & Reporting** - Run automated test suites and analyze results. - Generate detailed test reports and defect logs. **Defect Management** - Identify, log, and track defects in tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps. - Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues. **Continuous Improvement** - Optimize test coverage and execution time. - Keep automation scripts updated with application changes. **Environment & Data Setup** - Prepare test environments and manage test data for automation runs. **Version Control & Code Review** - Use Git for source control. - Participate in peer reviews of test scripts to ensure quality. **Cross-Platform & Cross-Browser Testing** - Ensure automation works across different OS, browsers, and devices **Preferred candidate profile** : for Python Automation Test Engineer roles are those who combine: 1. Solid educational background (B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./MCA) 2. Demonstrable Python programming and automation framework expertise 3. Hands-on experience in API or web automation (010+ years depending on level) 4. Familiarity with Agile workflows, CI/CD, and optionally cloud or AI-based testing projects 5. Strong analytical, debugging, and framework design skills Candidates exhibiting this profile are highly competitive and are in demand across Bengaluru and other Indian tech hubs.
