Job description

**Job Title:** AVP **Department** : Subject Matter Stream **About Function:** The Subject Matter Stream is primarily responsible for month end closing along with providing oversight and control over day-to-day transactions, operations and activities, including the recording of revenue arising from transactions from various activities. The team performs 1st level control to ensure accurate and good quality data is used for reporting **Position Purpose** Subject Matter Stream (SMS) team ensures an accurate, reliable and comprehensive set of segmented financial data required to produce all reporting streams through the execution of the financial control plan and a strong oversight on upstream controls and data quality. It’s also responsible for month end closing along with providing oversight and control over day-to-day transactions. The team performs various controls and correct accounting picture by posting accounting and extra accounting entries. The candidate will be responsible for posting journal entries, performing controls on accounting ledger and supporting various entities with BAU and adhoc tasks **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Review the preparation and booking of daily/monthly entries (Accrual, Provisions, etc.) - Enforce controls to ensure data quality in ledgers. - Monitor reconciliation between source and general ledger and identify gaps. - Review daily transactional account activity/daily ledgers for posting errors and back-value transactions - Review ledgers and perform account and transaction analysis for a set of entities. - Analyze, reconcile, and review all accounts under their responsibility by performing a variance analysis of corresponding revenue/balance sheet items, highlighting trends, and following up on questions/ concerns - Prepares month-end substantiation and sign off balances along with relevant documentation for multiple legal entities. - Assists with audit requests from External Audit, Regulators and internal control teams. - Follow up on the outstanding issues and escalate to the correct contact and work towards resolution. - Run control book daily and ensure the data quality is maintained in OFS ledger. - Perform and/or control the accounting and tax classification for overheads, pay-roll and employee benefit expenses (HR related), depreciation and amortization on tangible and intangible assets (and other provisions). - Transform the accounting data into management accounting (profitability and cost allocation by Business Line) following the MARP (Management Accounting Rules and Principles) - Understanding of accounting schema, reconciliation of intercompany process with a proper follow-up and respective documentation. - To support countries in preparation and reporting of Intercompany transactions (Transfer pricing local files) - Work on Data quality and related adhocs - Performs financial reporting, analysis, and related activities for multiple legal entities from various activities including Global Market & Global banking activities, financing activities. - Assist team in preparing financial statements (Belgian GAAP and IFRS). Contributing Responsibilities - Participate in the upgrades/version releases of respective reporting tools, as well as system amendments/enhancements required to facilitate new/modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and troubleshooting after deployment. - Assist in identifying operational process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
