Job Title: AM/AVP- Operational Risk Officer Department: ISPL Conduct and Control **About** **About Business line/Function** Within CIB ITO [Information Technology and Operations], the UK OPC [Operational Permanent Control] team is composed of 13 members, based both in the UK and in India, and reporting into BNP Paribas London Branch Management. Its role is to support the following businesses in managing their operational risk: - Global Banking [GB], - Financial Institutions Coverage [FIC], - Correspondent Banking [CBK] - Stakeholder Relations (SR) - Transversal departments (Due Diligence, Client Services, Sourcing, Outsourcing, BSS, Data Management, etc). With regards to ABC [Anti-Bribery and Corruption] setup specifically, UK OPC has a branch-wide mandate to perform controls. As a result, UK OPC also covers processes related to Global Markets, Finance or Brands and Communication. **Position Purpose** The objective is to maintain a robust setup of controls that will allow the identification, assessment, reporting, monitoring and mitigation of key regulatory risks, with a strong focus on ABC, Regulatory and post-Brexit topics. The senior regulatory risk officer will work in collaboration with the independent control functions (RISK, Compliance, etc), to ensure the compliance with internal procedures and standards, as well as with regulatory requirements. **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Ensure the proper execution of the ABC control plan and other regulatory controls: - Perform controls and/or coordinate control execution according to the control plans; - Assess the applicability of any new control suggested by UK Compliance (or any other authority), and update the control plan accordingly; - Adjust controls to meet new regulatory expectations when needed; - Identify and assess risks revealed by controls results; - Report controls results and related risks to the UK Management; - Ensure that remediation action plans are defined when needed; - Follow up the implementation of remediation actions. Contributing Responsibilities - Other operational risk management missions - Support the UK OPC team in any other operational risk topics such as: - the performance of risk assessment (notably with regards to the ABC risks included in the RCSA [Risk and Control Self-Assessment]) and Stakeholder Relations RCSA; - the reporting of historical incidents; - the preparation of committee slides; - the follow-up on audit recommendations; - the maintenance of the procedural framework; - the design and roll-out of trainings **Technical & Behavioral Competencies** **Must Have** - Demonstrable knowledge of Compliance risk management in the Banking industry (in particular with regards to Anti-Bribery and Corruption); - Proven experience of control execution and reporting. **Additional Relevant Competencies** - Experience of Operational Risk Management through previous roles/experience in 1/2/3 LOD (Lines of Defence); - Proven experience of identifying issues in processes and controls, and subsequently assessing, reporting, mitigating and monitoring them; - Ability to use Excel and Powerpoint proficiently. - Knowledge on UK Regulators and related topics. - A curious mindset and a critical thinking are key to be successful in this role. **Professional Qualification/Certification** - Possess a Bachelor’s / Master Degree or equivalent in finance/banking. **Skills Referential** Behavioral Skills: - Communication skills - oral & written - Ability to collaborate / Teamwork - Attention to detail / rigor - Active listening - Adaptability - Critical thinking **Transversal Skills** - Analytical Ability - Ability to develop others & improve their skills - Ability to manage / facilitate a meeting, committee, training… - Ability to understand, explain and support change - Ability to anticipate business / strategic evolution - Ability to understand, explain and support change **Education Level** : Master Degree or equivalent **Experience Level** : At least 8 to 10 years **Other/Specific Qualifications (if Required)** NIL **About BNP Paribas Group** BNP Paribas is the European Union’s leading bank and key player in international banking.
