L3+ AWS Platform Lead (7-9 Years Experience) Role Overview An experienced AWS Platform Lead with 79 years of hands-on expertise in automation using Terraform and CloudFormation, resource deployment through GitHub CI/CD, and strong platform governance. This role involves guiding teams on technical solution design, deployment feasibility, and supporting application teams by translating requirements into scalable AWS solutions. The engineer will also manage backlog prioritization, feature delivery, and ensure compliance with AWS governance and security standards. Key Responsibilities • Platform Automation & Deployment • Design, automate, and deploy AWS resources using CI/CD pipelines. • Guide the team on technical solution design and deployment feasibility. • Collaborate with application teams to understand technical requirements and deliver solutions. • Backlog & Governance • Prioritize backlog items, feature stories, and platform enhancements in Jira. • Ensure platform foundation governance, compliance, and security alignment. • Operations & Troubleshooting • Provide L3+ support during major incidents, guiding teams on root cause analysis and resolution. • Lead troubleshooting across complex infrastructure, networking, and application integrations. Core Skills & Expertise • AWS Services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail • Networking & Security: VPC design, Security Groups, NACLs, Route 53, Transit Gateway, IAM policies, KMS, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Security Hub • Monitoring & Logging: CloudWatch (metrics, logs, alarms), X-Ray, ELK Stack, Prometheus + Grafana • Automation & Scripting: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, CDK, Python, AWS CLI & SDKs (Boto3) • CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, GitLab CI • Containers & Orchestration: Fundamentals of ECS, Fargate, EKS, Docker, Helm • Cost Optimization: AWS Budgets, Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, tagging governance • DevSecOps & Compliance: Well-Architected Framework, CIS Benchmarks, SCPs, security best practices • Collaboration & Documentation: Agile methodologies, Jira, Confluence, architectural diagrams, runbooks
