**Role & responsibilities** **Job Requirements\\*** - Responsible for end-to-end backup operations, recovery execution, and data protection reliability across Customers infrastructure. - Ownership of enterprise backup strategy, DR architecture, and data protection governance, ensuring resilience and business continuity for customer. - Accountability, Administration and Management of: - Backup platforms (Veeam primary, Commvault legacy) - Backup scheduling, monitoring, failure handling - Restore operations and recovery validation - DR support and replication - Enterprise backup architecture (DC + Cloud) - DR design and recovery framework - Backup tool standardization and transformation - Key Skills - Strong experience in backup & restore operations - Experience in large-scale enterprise backup environments - Strong expertise in backup architecture & DR strategy - Ability to drive standardization & transformation initiatives - Understanding of DR and replication models - ITIL process alignment - Executive stakeholder communication **Key Responsibilities\\*** Backup Operations - Manage enterprise backup environment (Veeam-based) - Execute: - Backup scheduling - Job monitoring and failure resolution - Ensure successful backups and compliance with SLAs Restore & Recovery - Perform: - Data restore operations (file, VM, DB) - Ensure restore readiness through periodic testing Monitoring & Integration - Integrate backup tools with: - SolarWinds (central monitoring) - ServiceNow ITSM for incident tracking - Generate backup success and failure reports Incident & Problem Management - Handle backup failures and recovery issues - Perform RCA and trend analysis DR Support - Support: - Backup-based recovery models - Replication-based DR operations - Validate recoverability for critical workloads Transformation and Optimization - Support: - Backup standardization (towards Veeam) - Implement: - Backup policy improvements - Retention and performance tuning - Lead: - Backup consolidation (Commvault Veeam) - Drive: - Automation of backup operations - Integration with AIOps (ServiceNow ITOM) Backup Strategy & Architecture - Define: - Enterprise backup strategy (Veeam standardization) - Design: - Multi-site replication - Hybrid backup and DR (DC + Cloud) Accountability of - Enterprise backup architecture (DC + Cloud) - DR design and recovery framework - Backup tool standardization and transformation DR & Resiliency - Establish: - End-to-end recovery framework - Ensure: - Regular DR testing and validation - Address: - Gaps in DR readiness and backup resilience Delivery & Governance - Own: - Backup SLAs (success rates, RPO/RTO) - Govern: - Incident, problem, change processes Risk & Compliance - Ensure: - Data protection compliance - Audit readiness - Mitigate: - Data loss risks and recovery failures Stakeholder & Vendor Management - Engage with: - Customer leadership - Backup vendors (Veeam, OEMs) - Provide: - Executive dashboards and DR readiness reports Tools & Technologies - Backup: Veeam, Commvault (legacy) - Monitoring: SolarWinds, ServiceNow ITOM - Reporting: Grafana / dashboards - Cloud backup (basic exposure): AWS/Azure
