Role : Backup -Commvault Exp :4-8 Years Location : Bengaluru **JOB DESCRIPTION:** **Role Overview** The Commvault Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and day-to-day management of enterprise backup and recovery operations using Commvault software. This role ensures data integrity, availability, and compliance across hybrid environmentsphysical, virtual, and cloud. **Key Responsibilities** - Install, configure, and maintain Commvault components (CommServe, MediaAgents, Clients, Index Servers). - Monitor and troubleshoot backup jobs, alerts, and failures; perform root cause analysis and drive resolution. - Design and implement backup policies, schedules, and storage targets (disk, tape, cloud). - Perform restores for files, databases, virtual machines (VMs), and applications across platforms (Windows, Linux, UNIX). - Participate in shift rotations and handle escalations as required. - Integrate Commvault with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud providers (Azure, AWS). - Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and/or Commvault CLI for reporting, job control, and health checks. - Collaborate with stakeholders to define RPO/RTO, retention policies, and disaster recovery strategies. - Document procedures for backup workflows, recovery playbooks, and audit/compliance readiness. - Participate in disaster recovery drills and ensure readiness for business continuity scenarios. **Required Skills & Experience** **Skill Area** **Details** Backup Expertise - 5+ years of experience in Commvault administration in enterprise environments OS Knowledge - Strong in Windows Server, Active Directory; familiarity with Linux/UNIX Virtualization - Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V Cloud Integration - Backup/restore in Azure, AWS, or hybrid setups Scripting - PowerShell, Batch, or Commvault CLI Compliance & Security - Understanding of GDPR, ISO 27001, and data retention policies Communication - Ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders **Preferred Qualifications** - Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) and/or Commvault Certified Engineer (CCE). - Experience with legacy backup tools (e.g., Avamar) for migration projects. - Familiarity with database backups (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SAP HANA). - Exposure to automation and ITSM platforms (e.g., Ansible, ServiceNow, SCCM).
