**Job Title: Backup & Recovery Lead** **Skills: Commvault and Veeam Backup** **Experience: 7-12 years** **Location: Greater Noida** We at Coforge are hiring **Backup & Recovery Lead** with the following skill-set: **Role Description – Technical Lead - Backup & Recovery (Commvault / Veeam)** The Backup & Recovery Lead is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise backup operations using **Commvault** and **Veeam** platforms. This role ensures data availability, integrity, and recoverability across servers, applications, databases, and virtualized environments. **Key Responsibilities** **Backup Operations & Administration** - Perform daily monitoring of Commvault and Veeam backup jobs, replication tasks, and recovery points. - Configure new backup policies, schedules, retention rules, and storage pools as per defined standards. - Manage backup/restore operations for Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, databases (SQL/Oracle), and file systems. - Perform periodic restore validation (RTO/RPO checks) to ensure backup integrity. **Incident & Problem Management** - Troubleshoot backup failures, missed jobs, media agent issues, and storage utilization alerts. - Coordinate with OS, VMware, Storage, and Network teams for cross-domain issues. - Drive root cause analysis for repeating failures and implement corrective actions. **Backup Infrastructure Management** - Manage and maintain backup servers, media agents, proxies, repositories, and storage libraries. - Monitor storage capacity, deduplication ratio, and optimize backup performance. - Handle tape operations (if applicable) including labeling, export/import, and lifecycle management. **Operational Compliance & Governance** - Ensure adherence to backup policies, cybersecurity controls, retention requirements, and audit standards. - Maintain daily/weekly backup reports, compliance dashboards, and documentation (SOPs/runbooks). - Support DR drills, BCP activities, and backup restoration tests. - Support implementation of automation scripts (PowerShell, bash) for routine tasks. - Recommend improvements related to scheduling, retention, and resource allocation. **Required Skills & Experience** **Technical Skills** - Hands-on expertise in **Commvault** (CommCell, Media Agents, Storage Policies, Schedules, Deduplication). - Strong experience with **Veeam Backup & Replication** , proxies, repositories, and SureBackup. - Knowledge of Windows/Linux OS, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V environments. - Understanding of SAN/NAS storage, cloud storage tiers, tape libraries. - Ability to perform full, incremental, synthetic full backups and granular file/db restores. - Familiarity with backup encryption, compression, deduplication, and retention management.
