**Rolling Stock Bogie Design Engineer (Design & Detailing) – Alstom-Type Projects (India + German Standards Alignment)** **1. Key Responsibilities (Design, Detailing & Integration)** - Create **3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings** of bogie structures and sub-systems using CATIA V5 - Develop **fabrication, assembly, and interface drawings** with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and weld specifications - Design and detail: - Bogie frame (welded structures) - Suspension systems (primary & secondary) - Brake, traction, and equipment interfaces - Piping and cable routing on bogie - Ensure **interface management** with carbody, traction, braking, and electrical systems - Perform **design validation support** (load cases, stiffness checks, coordination with FEA teams) - Apply **weight optimization, material selection, and cost-effective design principles** - Support **manufacturing, prototype builds, and supplier interactions** **2. Standards, Tools & Engineering Practices (German/Alstom Bogie Team Alignment)** - Design in compliance with **European (EN/DIN) railway standards used by German Alstom teams** , including: - **ISO GPS standards Knowledge** - **EN standards related to Welding drawings** **EN 15085** - Follow **German DIN practices** for: - Tolerancing and fits - Weld classification and inspection - Manufacturing quality and documentation - Use tools: - **CATIA V5** – 3D modelling & detailing - **PDM / 3D com** – BOM, drawing release, configuration control - Apply **design review gates, configuration management, and change control (ECR/ECN)** - Ensure compliance with **Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD)** and global engineering processes **3. Qualifications & Skills** - Bachelor’s in **Mechanical Engineering** with 5–10+ years in bogie / rolling stock / welded structure design - Strong expertise in: - **Welded structures, GD&T, tolerance stack-up** - Bogie systems and structural load paths - Railway standards (EN, DIN, UIC, IRS) - Experience in **CATIA V5 and PLM (ENOVIA preferred)** - Knowledge of: - Manufacturing processes (welding, machining, assembly) - Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA) - Ability to work in **global teams (India–Germany collaboration model)** with strong communication skills
