**Location** - Padi, Chennai **Business Unit** - Heavy Vehicle **Job Description:-** **Purpose of the Role** To manage strategic and operational sourcing activities for pressed sheet metal components, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality, delivery performance, supplier development, and alignment with business objectives. **Key Responsibilities** **Strategic Sourcing** - Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for sheet metal pressing and fabrication components. - Execute supplier selection, RFQ processes, commercial negotiations, and source finalization. - Drive cost reduction initiatives through VA/VE, process improvements, and localization projects. - Analyze market trends, raw material movements, and supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions. **Supplier Management** - Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. - Monitor supplier performance against Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) targets. - Lead supplier capability assessments, audits, and capacity evaluations. - Support supplier development programs to improve quality, productivity, and delivery performance**.** **Cost Management** - Perform cost analysis and should-costing for pressed parts. - Lead commercial negotiations to achieve annual cost reduction targets. - Track and manage savings projects and procurement KPIs. **New Product Development (NPD)** - Support new product sourcing activities from concept to SOP. - Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers for timely PPAP/APQP completion. - Ensure tooling development, trial validation, and production readiness. **Quality & Delivery Assurance** - Work closely with Supplier Quality teams to resolve supplier quality issues. - Ensure uninterrupted supply through effective planning, risk assessment, and mitigation. - Monitor supplier lead times, inventory, and capacity planning. **Cross-Functional Coordination** - Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams. - Participate in product reviews, sourcing reviews, and cost optimization workshops. - Support business continuity and dual-source development initiatives. **Compliance & Governance** - Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices. - Maintain sourcing documentation, contracts, and supplier records. - Support ESG, sustainability, and regulatory compliance requirements where applicable. **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)** - Cost savings achievement - Supplier OTD (On-Time Delivery) - New supplier development - Localization achievement - Lead-time reductions in New part development - Successful NPD project launches - Contract and sourcing compliance **Candidate Profile** **Educational Qualification** - Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering - MBA (Supply Chain / Operations) preferred. **Experience** - 5 to 8 years of experience in sourcing/procurement of pressed sheet metal components. - Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, electrical, or manufacturing industries preferred. **Technical Competencies** - Sheet metal pressing processes and tooling knowledge. - Cost analysis and should-costing. - Supplier assessment and development. - Negotiation and contract management. - SAP procurement modules. - Microsoft Excel and data analysis **Behavioral Competencies** - Strong negotiation and influencing skills. - Analytical and problem-solving ability. - Effective communication and stakeholder management. - Result-oriented and proactive approach. - Team collaboration and leadership capability.
