Job Description **Who we are looking for** The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and quality of data within payment and cash custody systems. This role involves in establishing and maintaining the data governance frameworks, monitoring compliance with data policies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize the data management practices. **Why this role is important to us** Payment Cash Custody - Data Governance function is vital to State Street and Enables transparency of data that is available within the enterprise. It ensures coordination is occurring between the providers and consumers of data, ensure that the right data is being used for the right purpose. Also enables reuse of data through the definition of authoritative, trusted sources of data and ensuring those datasets are use where they exists. Ensures data quality needs are clearly understood from the project initiation to execution. Join us if you want to grow your Data Governance, Data Management and business analysis skills, payment cash and custody banking, solve real problems, and make your mark on our industry. **What you will be responsible for** As a Data Governance Analyst – Officer/Manager- you will work on multiple of dimensions below: - Ensure the availability and quality of critical payment and banking data within the new applications, Transact, RTPS, RPH, Data Warehouse and all in-scope applications in Payment Cash Custody, are in line with the stated business requirements (BRD’s) - Data governance activities are executed to maturity Level 3 per the EDGM policy. - Near Real Time Messages, Data Extracts and Reports are made available for all business and end users in alignment with systems - Ensure to understand the scope for all the projects impacting applications; accountability for governance established and tracked - Discover application, Establish element to element lineage between extract and application - Provide training and validation of governance activities across impacted stakeholders - Ensure execution of Data Governance activities are embedded into the project life cycle and completed by accountable individuals - Continually assess opportunities for improvement in the Data Governance life cycle - Develop and implement data governance policies for payment and cash custody applications. - Monitor and analyze data flows to identify risks, inconsistencies for improvements - Coordinate with IT, operations, & compliance teams to ensure that data accuracy is in line with regulatory compliance. - Conduct regular audits and assessments of data quality and security within relevant systems. - Document data lineage and maintain metadata repositories for critical business information. - Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on best practices in data governance and stewardship. - Lead the Data Governance Team with a strategic approach, partnering with stakeholders to advance data governance initiatives, achieve key transformation milestones, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Demonstrate strong performance management skills to drive team effectiveness and achieve organizational objectives. - Enhance team value through inclusive leadership, and fostering a culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and leveraged. - Employee Engagement Activities and create Inclusive environment - Consistently motivate team members, supporting employee retention and creating a positive work environment - Drive successful completion of transformation milestones to support organizational growth and strategic objectives. - Proactively manage and strengthen resiliency to ensure continuity and adaptability in dynamic environments **What we value** These skills will help you succeed in this role: - Commitment to deliver single source of truth for cash data (custody view) enabling real time reporting and position management - Active engagement with data stewards, Data Governance teams and EDGM to satisfy all data governance requirements - Ensure the Data Governance activities are being identified and actioned throughout the tollgates (Assessment, Establishing Accountability, Identifying Data Governance Tasks, Data Governance Checkpoints and Enterprise Data Catalog Completeness in Collibra) - Display a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability in performing the role - Ensure that the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in your behaviour - Provide appropriate management information as required to support the business needs - Implement the ‘Risk Excellence’ culture within the business - Adhere to limits of delegation and escalation procedures required by your manager so that you comply with internal policies and external regulations **Education Qualifications & Preferred Skills** - Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Finance/Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - A minimum of 8+ years of Experience with Investment Banking in the Assets Servicing area of payment and cash custody applications and data governance frameworks. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting financial data management. - Experience in banking environments or financial services - Having experience in team management, risk management, transformation - Proficient in Data Lineage, Mapping and experience in Data Governance Application i.e. Collibra - Good knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance standards. - Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with all the stakeholders - Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. - Having knowledge on SQL, Python, Power BI, is a plus **About State Street** **What we do.** State Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world.
