Position Details - Job Title: Business Analyst – Functional - Position: Lead Analyst - Experience: 8 – 12 Years - Category: Software Development / Engineering - Employment Type: Full Time - Location: Bangalore, India - Shift Timing: 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong expertise in process modelling and enterprise business transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience across end-to-end order-to-execution business processes including planning, allocation, exception handling, invoicing, cost implications, and regional business variations. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills to translate complex business requirements into epics, user stories, business rules, event flows, API contracts, and detailed acceptance criteria. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technology teams to support large-scale transformation and modernization programs. Mandatory Skills & Domain Expertise Ocean Freight Strong understanding of end-to-end Ocean Freight operations including import/export processes. Knowledge of freight booking, shipment planning, vessel allocation, and cargo movement tracking. Container Lifecycle Management Expertise in container lifecycle processes from container release, pickup, stuffing, movement, transshipment, unloading, return, and closure. Understanding of container status tracking and event management. Booking Management Experience in booking creation, amendment, confirmation, cancellation, allocation, and capacity management. Knowledge of customer booking workflows and carrier interactions. Equipment Management Understanding of container equipment types, availability, utilization, maintenance, and repositioning. Experience with equipment inventory and operational planning. Vessel Schedules Knowledge of vessel scheduling, route planning, voyage management, port rotation, and schedule changes. Understanding of shipping line operational processes. Terminal Operations Experience with port and terminal processes including gate operations, yard management, loading/unloading activities, and terminal coordination. Understanding of container handling workflows and operational events. Inland Transportation Knowledge of multimodal transportation including trucking, rail, and inland container depot operations. Experience in planning and tracking inland container movements. Shipping Documentation Strong understanding of shipping documents including Bill of Lading (B/L), Shipping Instructions, Delivery Orders, Manifest, Arrival Notices, and Customs-related documentation. Experience in documentation workflows, compliance, and exception handling. Additional Business Analyst Skills Requirements Gathering & Analysis BRD, FRD, User Story and Use Case Documentation Process Modeling (BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, etc.) Stakeholder Management Gap Analysis & Impact Assessment UAT Planning and Execution Agile/Scrum Methodology Data Analysis and Reporting JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps or similar tools Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Experience working with shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics providers, terminal operators, or supply chain technology platforms. Exposure to digital transformation, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics platforms. Key Competencies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience driving business and technology alignment in complex enterprise environments. **Your future duties and responsibilities** Roles & Responsibilities - Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for enterprise transformation initiatives - Perform end-to-end process modelling and workflow analysis across order-to-execution processes - Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria - Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to define functional solutions - Analyze planning, allocation, invoicing, exception handling, and cost impact processes across multiple business scenarios - Document API contracts, event flows, system interactions, and integration requirements - Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, prioritization, and Agile delivery activities - Conduct gap analysis, impact assessments, and process optimization initiatives - Validate business requirements through workshops, stakeholder discussions, and UAT support - Ensure alignment between business objectives, operational processes, and technology solutions - Manage regional business variations, compliance considerations, and configurable workflow requirements - Create functional specifications, workflow diagrams, process documentation, and reporting artifacts - Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes #LI-PS18 **Required qualifications to be successful in this role** Must Have Skills Strong experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise transformation programs  Expertise in: - Process Modelling - Workflow Analysis - Business Process Documentation - Requirement Analysis - Experience across: - Order-to-Execution Lifecycle Processes - Planning - Allocation - Invoicing - Exception Management  Strong capability in writing: - Epics - User Stories - Acceptance Criteria - Business Rules - Experience documenting: - API Contracts - Integration Requirements - Event-Driven Workflows  Proficiency in: - Agile Methodologies - Scrum - SAFe - Hands-on experience
