Role-CAM Engineer Required Technical Skill Set - **Siemens NX CAM / CATIA CAM / Mastercam** - Multi-axis machining (**3+2, full 5-axis simultaneous**) - CNC programming (**G-code/M-code optimization**) Desired Experience Range-10+ Years 1. **Advanced CAM Programming & Strategy Development** Develop and validate **complex CNC programs (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis)** using tools such as **Siemens NX CAM, CATIA, or Mastercam** Define and implement **optimized machining strategies** for high-precision and complex geometries Lead reuse and standardization of **machining templates, tool libraries, and best practices** 1. **Machining Process Ownership** Own end-to-end **machining process planning** including setup design, fixture strategy, and sequence optimization Perform **DFM/DFA reviews** and provide inputs to design teams for manufacturability improvements Ensure adherence to **GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and quality requirements** 1. **Simulation, Validation & Digital Manufacturing** Lead **toolpath simulation and collision avoidance** using NX Simulation / Vericut Validate programs through **machine simulation and digital twin environments** Ensure **first-time-right manufacturing** with zero-defect program release 1. **Post-Processing & CNC Integration** Customize, validate, and troubleshoot **post-processors** Generate robust and optimized **G-code/M-code programs** Support CNC machines (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain) and resolve **shop floor challenges** 1. **Process Optimization & Cost Reduction** Drive **cycle time reduction, tool life improvement, and productivity enhancement** Implement **automation (macros, knowledge-based machining, templates)** Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with **Lean manufacturing principles** 1. **Technical Leadership & Mentoring** Provide technical guidance and mentoring to **junior and mid-level CAM engineers** Establish CAM standards, SOPs, and governance frameworks Review and approve critical programs and ensure adherence to best practices 1. **Cross-Functional Collaboration** Interface with **design, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams** Support **new product introduction (NPI)** and production ramp-up Drive resolution of **manufacturing defects, rework, and process issues**
