Selection Operations Manager - Amazon NowAmazon Now is seeking a structured and execution-focused Selection Operations Manager to lead selection strategy and operations. The role requires strong analytical rigor, stakeholder management, and program management skills to build and maintain the right selection for customers across categories and cities.Key Responsibilities:Selection Strategy:Design the selection strategy for Amazon Now, defining what to stock, where to stock, and at what depth across darkstores and superstoresBuild category-level and city-level selection frameworks anchored on customer demand, competitor benchmarking, and store constraintsDefine selection guardrails covering assortment width, brand mix, and price point coverageContinuously sharpen selection logic based on performance data and market shiftsStakeholder Alignment:Work with category managers, instock, operations, and leadership to align on selection strategy and secure buy-inRun structured review mechanisms to collect feedback, resolve conflicts, and iterate on selection logicPublish clear documentation and decision frameworks for stakeholder visibilitySelection Curation:Partner with sellers, brands, and category managers to curate the right selection for each categoryIdentify and close selection gaps versus competition through crawls, benchmarking, and customer signalsDrive onboarding of priority brands and ASINs in partnership with seller-facing teamsProgrammatic Selection Management:Build programmatic processes for addition of NPIs (new product introductions) with clear intake, evaluation, and go-live SLAsDesign and operate removal mechanisms for non-performing ASINs based on defined performance thresholdsAutomate selection health tracking through dashboards covering coverage, productivity, and gap metricsSeasonal & Topical Programs:Manage seasonal and topical selection (festivals, events, weather-led demand) through programmatic playbooksDefine pre-season readiness timelines, selection ramp-up plans, and post-season exit criteriaCoordinate cross-functional execution to ensure timely availability of event-relevant selectionBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related fieldExperience in category management, selection planning, merchandising, or related areasStrong proficiency in data analysis; excellence in Excel, SQL, and business intelligence toolsProven track record of building and scaling operational processesExperience managing multiple stakeholders and driving alignmentPreferred Qualifications:MBA or advanced degreeExperience in e-commerce, quick commerce, or retail selection/assortment planningProgramming knowledge (Python, R)Program management experience with automated or rule-based systemsLeadership Competencies:Demonstrate ownership in driving results end to endStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellence in stakeholder management and ability to influence without authorityBias for action with high standards on process qualityStrong written and verbal communication skillsCustomer-obsessed mindsetThis role offers an exciting opportunity to define what customers see and buy on Amazon Now, building selection systems that scale across categories and cities.Key job responsibilitiesRoles and Responsibilities (summary):Design the selection strategy and frameworks for Amazon Now across categories and citiesWork with internal stakeholders to align, gather feedback, and continuously sharpen selection logicPartner with sellers, brands, and category managers to curate the right selection for customersProgrammatically drive NPI additions and removal of non-performing selection through defined processesManage seasonal and topical selection through scalable, programmatic playbooksAbout the team-
