CAD Designer SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role) CAD Designer/Technician is a skilled professional who uses specialized software to create precise and detailed digital models \& technical drawings for Civil/other range of industries. They play a crucial role in the design process, helping to transform ideas \& concepts into feasible and accurate drawings that can be executed in the real world. CAD Designer must prepare a comprehensive set of construction drawings for authority approvals and tender submissions adhering to Civil/Structural standards and best practices. SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES Technical Drawings Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and schedules, using software such as AutoCAD \& Revit based on concepts \& specifications. Produce new drawings or modify existing drawings, incorporating inputs from clients and other professionals to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to Civil/Structural standards. Work with 3D modelling \& simulation tools to create more realistic \& accurate representations of design. Review all drawings prior to submission to ensure quality control and industry compliance. Collaboration Work closely with Civil/Structural engineers to understand design requirements and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project guidelines, thus minimizing errors. Communicate effectively and coordinate with other interface engineers such as Architectural, mechanical, electrical etc., for data/information which are required for the preparation of technical drawings. Documentation Maintain and organize project documentation including the appropriate approved drawings with revisions, meeting records and correspondence as per Indian/ISO standards. Adhere to company drawing standards and procedures for electronic \& hardcopy drawing files. Site visits Collaborate with site teams to verify that designs are feasible and practical for construction implementation, adjusting the drawings accordingly. Incorporate feedback \& revise CAD drawings as necessary. Continuous Learning Continuously improve knowledge and skills by attending Seminars, workshops, and pursuing professional development opportunities. Keep updated on the latest Civil/Structural codes, industry standards, and best practices in construction \& techniques. Knowledge on Automation process in the preparation of drawing/BBS using latest techniques such as BIM, AI and other advanced technologies. SECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONS Internal Stakeholder Purpose of Interaction Civil/Structural Engineers Work closely with Civil/Structural engineers to understand the design concepts \& translate their design ideas into detailed drawings, which are clearly understood by the working level people at site. Architects/ Other professional Engineers Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other professionals to ensure proper integration of their components/systems in the combined service drawings. External Stakeholder Purpose of Interaction Site Design Coordinator Work with the design coordinator to address site related issues such as infringement of utilities, roads etc. \& decide upon a feasible solution, considering the other aspects. Client Participate in project review meetings to understand the progress of the project and enhance the deliverables accordingly. SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE \& EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Language Skills English, Regional language. EXPERIENCE Years of Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting. Nature of Experience Experience in Metro/Bridge projects. SECTION VI: TECHNICAL \& LEADERSHIP / BEHAVIORAL SKILLS REQUIRED TO EXECUTE THE ROLE SKILLS Technical Skills (if available) Proficiency in AutoCAD software, CIVIL 3D \& Revit. Comprehensive knowledge of shape code procedures/standard practices. Familiarity with various software tools is essential. Leadership / Behavioral Skills (if available) Effective communication and teamwork. Attention to detail. Visualization skills to accurately interpret instructions and translate them to drawings. Adaptability to handle project requirements and incorporate into drawings.
