Open up opportunities with HPE. **Job Description** **What you’ll do:** **Job Family Definition** The Cloud Consultant guides and supports HPE's clients through their digital transformation, and thinks strategically and long-term about the complex business and technical needs of customers. Deeply evaluates customer applications for the strategic and functional transition from internal systems to external virtual cloud-based platforms. Acts as a trusted value advisor to HPE's customers in the development of their cloud computing strategy, providing recommendations for cloud migrations, technical implementation roadmaps, and adoption plans. Designs state-of-the-art public, multi, and hybrid cloud technology solutions, achieving scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Builds influential relationships with executives including the C-level when necessary. Proactively defines an effective engagement model with the customer's key influencers and decision-makers. **Management Level Definition** Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. **Responsibilities** - Strong problem-solving skills with participation in product or service development. - Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for cloud environments, including encryption, compliance, and threat detection. - Regularly leads in the technical assessment and delivery of specific technical solutions to customers. - Coordinates implementation of new installations, designs, and migrations for technology solutions in one of the following work domains: networks, applications, or platforms. - Collects and analyzes data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements. - Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new methods to apply to the situation. - Owns knowledge sharing within a small community (e.g., team, practice, or project). Ensure team members support knowledge sharing and re-use requirements of the project. Contributes significant knowledge to job family community. - Proactively encourages the membership and contributions of others to the professional community and coach’s others in their area of expertise. Regularly produces internally published material such as knowledge briefs, service delivery kit components and modules, etc. Presents at multi-customer technology conferences. **What You Need To Bring** ***Education and Experience Required:*** - Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study with typically 4 - 7 years’ experience; master’s degree desirable. **Knowledge And Skills** - In-depth knowledge of various cloud technologies, virtualization, networking, and storage. - Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation. - Depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a single technology. - Has participated in the delivery of multiple deliverables across multiple technologies. - Ability to develop solutions that enhance a particular customer's enterprise's availability, performance, maintainability, and agility. - Understands, at a detailed level, the architectural dependencies of technologies in use in the customer's IT environment. - Uses product and application knowledge to develop solutions. A recognized expert in one or more technologies within one's own technical community and at the regional level. - Holds a vendor or industry certification in at least one discipline area. - Able to communicate with internal and external management confidently and demonstrate the professionalism of the job family. - Ability to work in a multi-technology environment and diagnose complex technical problems to their root cause, in addition to troubleshooting and consulting skills. - Can summarize prognoses and impact at the practice lead level. - Ability to adapt to a consulting style appropriate to the situation and identify upselling opportunities. - Demonstrates a broad understanding of market dynamics, an industry area, commercial issues, and technical concerns while maintaining depth in core focus areas. - Ability to present within one's own area of expertise as part of a customer sales presentation, putting forward domain-specific information within the context of the company sales campaign. - Able to independently complete solution implementation or application design deliverables. - Able to participate in a team of consultants in completing one or more solution requirements, architecture, or implementation deliverables. **Additional Skills** Accountability, Accountability, Action Planning, Active Learning, Active Listening, Bias, Business Growth, Business Planning, Cloud Computing, Cloud Migrations, Coaching, Commercial Acumen, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Cross-Functional Teamwork, Customer Experi
