Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions. Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements. The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPEs Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications. ***Management Level Definition:*** Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. **What you will do:** **Role Summary** We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Software Engineer with strong expertise in Linux systems, Kubernetes platforms, virtualization technologies, automation, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and automating enterprise-scale infrastructure and platform services while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available solutions. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native infrastructure. - Build, automate, and enhance platform services using Python, Go, Shell scripting, and other automation technologies. - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms. - Administer and support Linux-based environments, ensuring platform reliability, security, and performance. - Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads and Kubernetes clusters, including RKE2, K3S, or equivalent distributions. - Manage virtualization environments using KVM, VMware, or Hyper-V technologies. - Collaborate with software development, architecture, QA, DevOps, and operations teams to design and deliver scalable platform solutions. - Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to platform strategy, technology selection, and engineering best practices. - Improve platform observability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness to ensure high availability and rapid incident resolution. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues and drive corrective and preventive actions. - Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies. - Support software release processes, platform upgrades, patching activities, and lifecycle management initiatives. - Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge-sharing materials. - Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, design reviews, and code reviews. - Mentor and guide junior engineers while promoting engineering excellence and knowledge sharing across the team. - Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to platform architecture, automation, and operational efficiency. - Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality and reliable solutions within agreed timelines. **What you will need to bring:** **Key Skills Required** **Linux & Infrastructure** - Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills - Good understanding of server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure architecture - Experience working with highly available and distributed systems **Kubernetes & Cloud-Native Technologies** - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms such as RKE2, K3S, or equivalent distributions - Container orchestration, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting - Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and platform operations **Programming & Automation** - Strong programming experience in Python - Knowledge of Go programming - Shell scripting and automation expertise - Experience developing and maintaining system-level automation solutions **Virtualization & High Availability** - Hands-on experience with KVM (preferred), VMware, or Hyper-V - Experience with DRBD and Pacemaker clustering technologies - Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery concepts **Networking** - Strong understanding of networking technologies including: - DNS - NTP - IPAM - Firewalls (e.g., pfSense) - Network troubleshooting and diagnostics **DevOps & CI/CD** - Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms - Hands-on experience with DevOps practices including: - Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Containerization - Configuration management - Deployment automation - Strong understanding of CI/CD methodologies and DevOps best practices **Software
