## **Company:** Qualcomm India Private Limited ## **Job Area:** Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering **General Summary:** Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Development Engineering team Lead with 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, automating, and operating large-scale cloud platforms with complex adjacent ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, development and build mindset, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, container orchestration, observability, and site reliability engineering practices. He/She builds from the ground up to meet the needs of the platform and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to enhance and mature the Cloud platform. This role will collaborate closely with software engineering, architecture, security, and operations teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions while improving developer productivity and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Cloud Platform Engineering Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions and software applications. Develop reusable cloud architecture patterns and platform services. Implement high-availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region deployment strategies. Manage containerization tools like Kubernetes and Docker for microservices application development. Drive cloud modernization and cloud-native adoption initiatives. Implement secure cloud workload practices including secure logins Develop automation tools and cloud-native services using Python, Go, Java, or Bash. Build self-service capabilities to improve developer productivity. Create APIs and integrations for platform operations. Lead DevOps initiatives with a focus on CI/CD practices, deployment automation, and orchestration. Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements. DevOps & CI/CD Automation Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI. Drive DevOps and platform engineering best practices across development teams (build, test, deploy, release, rollback). Automate software build, test, security scanning, and deployment processes. Expertise in DevOps tools like Git, Gitlab, Jenkins, JFrog, GitOps practices or similar tools and drive standardization Improve deployment frequency, reliability, and release automation. Security & Compliance Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, Secrets Management, Encryption, and Policy Enforcement. Integrate DevSecOps controls into CI/CD pipelines. Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards. Leadership & Collaboration Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Participate in architecture reviews and technology evaluations. Collaborate with Product, Development, Security, and Infrastructure teams. Lead major cloud transformation and automation initiatives. Identify systemic issues, lead root-cause analysis of complex production incidents, and define long-term corrective actions. Evaluate new tools, technologies, and cloud services; make recommendations aligned to business and engineering goals. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. Knowledge of programming language (e.g., Python, Ruby, etc.), with experience and has passion with self-motivation for automation. Technical Skills Cloud Platforms AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform | Multi-cloud architecture experience Infrastructure as Code Terraform | CloudFormation | CDK Container & Orchestration Working knowledge of continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline automation tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.) with working experience in source code (eg., GIT), build and dependency management systems (e.g., Maven, Gradle, etc.). CI/CD & DevOps Jenkins | GitHub Actions | Azure DevOps | GitLab CI Programming & Scripting Python | PowerShell Monitoring & Observability Datadog | Grafana | ELK Stack | CloudWatch | Azure Monitor Source Control Git | GitHub | GitOps methodologies **Minimum Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
