Manages exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Has accountability for the results of a major program in terms of cost, direction, and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for the area of responsibility. Plans, manages, and monitors operational/tactical activities of the staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues. Recruits and supports the development of direct staff members. Typically reports to MG2 or Director. Additional guidance/criteria: Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region; Manages at least 4 employees and typically between 8 and 15 direct reports. We are looking for a Cloud Software Engineering Manager for our Next Generation Central, which is a unified AI-powered cloud network management platform. The candidate will participate in architecture and design discussions and develop scalable applications that run on top of Next Generation Central. We are looking for candidates with the following requirements: **What you’ll do** ***Responsibilities:*** - Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, developing, and sustaining products, enhancements, and updates. - Plans and delivers features for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps. - Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs. - Proactively identifies process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and achieves operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning. - Provides people management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting, and monitoring of performance goals, coaching, and career development. - Builds a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results. - Advanced project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring **What you need to bring:** ***Education and Experience Required:*** - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field. - Typically, 10+ years’ experience, including 0-2 years of people management experience. **Our Minimum Requirements for this Role Are** - Experience in implementing scalable cloud applications. - Proven record of developing and releasing cloud applications in a production environment. - Experience working with Product Marketing to understand requirements and translate those into design and implementation. - Solid grasp of computer science/software engineering concepts, including: - Common data structures - Standard algorithms - Object-oriented design - Distributed computing - Cloud computing paradigms - Hands-on experience with SQL database (Postgres), NOSQL databases (Cassandra, Clickhouse, etc.), Graph database, and Redis - Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ - Experiences in deployin
