The ideal candidate should possess good experience in SQL Server administration, database development, SSRS reporting, replication management, and basic cloud database migration and maintenance capabilities. **Key Responsibilities** Database Administration - Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases. - Ensure database availability, performance, security, and reliability. - Perform database backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. - Manage database configurations, maintenance plans, and SQL Server Agent jobs. - Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. **Database Development** - Design, develop, and maintain: - Stored Procedures - Functions - Views - Tables - Indexes - Triggers - Optimize SQL queries and database objects for performance and scalability. - Support database schema changes and application deployments. **Reporting Services (SSRS)** - Develop, maintain, and enhance SSRS reports. - Design dashboards and operational reports based on business requirements. **Replication Management** - Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server replication environments. - Manage transactional, merge, and snapshot replication jobs. - Ensure data synchronization and replication health across environments. **Cloud Knowledge** - Support database migration activities to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). - Maintain cloud-hosted SQL databases and monitor performance. - Assist in planning and implementing cloud database backup, recovery, and security strategies. - Familiarity with Azure/AWS in application development related services is an added advantage. Candidates should be eager to learn and implement cloud technologies. **Required Skills Experience** **Technical Skills** - Good experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022 or later). - Expertise in: - T-SQL Programming - Stored Procedures - Functions - Views - Indexing Strategies - Query Optimization - Experience managing SQL Server Agent Jobs and Maintenance Plans. - Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). - Experience with SQL Server Replication setup and support. - Knowledge of database security, user management, and access control. - Familiarity with backup/recovery and disaster recovery procedures. **Cloud Skills** - Basic knowledge of database services such as Azure Managed database Instance / AWS RDS for SQL Server - Familiarity with Azure/AWS services is an added advantage. Candidates should be eager to learn and implement cloud technologies in application development. **Experience** - Experience in SQL Server Administration and Development. - Experience supporting production-critical database environments. **Key Competencies** - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. - Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
