You will also get to work on AI automation projects, participate in testing and execution **OUR IMPACT** Risk & Regulatory Control Reconciliations team is a critical control team within Operations. We provide senior management with critical control indicators to assess economic, regulatory, and operational risks associated with the operations areas that support the business units. We help maintain the firm’s reputation and clients’ confidence by ensuring compliance with customer protection regulations as well as liaise with regulators and auditors during audit processes. We help improve the efficiency and controls of securities, foreign exchanges, commodities, and futures businesses through independent reconciliations and oversight of trade and clearance processes. Through the development, testing, and implementation of strategic technology and new business initiatives, we help ensure the adequacy of controls to mitigate financial, regulatory, and reputational risks for the firm and excellence in execution. **Teams Overview** **AUDIT CONFIRMS** The Audit Confirmation Team is responsible for responding to audit requests from Goldman Sachs clients and counterparties globally by providing month end statements to their auditors confirming security positions and cash balances for the purpose of an audit. The team is also responsible for the firm's adherence to SEC Rule 17a-13 and for facilitating responses to client audit confirmation requests. The SEC rule specifies that borrows/loans, fails to deliver/receive, repurchase/reverse positions aged over 30 days must be verified with the counterparties (brokers/dealers, banks, and clients) once every quarter. **LEDGER RECONCILIATIONS** The Ledger Reconciliations Team is responsible for all inter-company and intra-company monitoring, reconciliations and reporting—which are used to facilitate business transactions between a GS company and its affiliates. The team is responsible for the overall integrity of the General ledger and Sub Ledger, ensuring that all supporting ledgers agree with the master ledgers. The ledger Reconciliations team strives to accurately and effectively compare internal books and records to external clearing agents such as BoNY, DTCC, NSCC etc. We asses and report operational risks through the analysis of settlement and trade activity to allow the business to better manage their operations. **Risk Regulatory Control - DIVISION OVERVIEW** Risk Regulatory Control is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, the department provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched, or market entered, every transaction completed, this is the team that develops the processes and controls that enables business flow. **Team Overviews** Analysts joining the division will be on the front-line of the division enabling all the firm’s businesses. This includes taking an active role in the life cycle of each deal, trade, or transaction – including onboarding the client, assisting in pricing, monitoring various reconciliations (risk booking system versus factories), affirming trade economics, settling, and allocating trades, and post-settlement activities such as collateral management or maintenance of securities and cash. These teams work closely with traders and bankers to service our clients and mitigate risk. Professionals in these functions have diverse academic backgrounds (Liberal Arts, Business, STEM). **Qualifications** Highly motivated graduates who can demonstrate outstanding achievements in academic and extracurricular activities and people who can display the following personal qualities and attributes: - Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Intellectual Curiosity, Passion, and Self-Motivation - Strong Sense of Teamwork - Leadership - Sense of Risk Management - Design, Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills - Integrity, Ethical Standards and Sound Judgment - Commitment to Excellence **Responsibilities** - Gaining an understanding of the dynamics of the process and the risk and control mechanisms - Performing day-to-day functions similar to the Operations teams to gain hands-on experience. - Gaining in-depth understanding of exotic asset classes on how they are captured, processed, and calculated. - Documentation and/or visual representation of said processes. - Analyzing large amounts of data relating to Operations processes and presenting them in a visual format that provides transparency into key risk indicators. - Identifying inefficiencies or open risks in the existing processes - Mapping out dependencies and requirements to remediate inefficiencies/risks. - Working with other teams within the firm and key stakeholders on the idea formation and plans - Implementation of projects/controls/procedures -
