India Operations Group Functions **Job Reference #** 342207BR **City** Mumbai **Job Type** Full Time **Your role** As an Associate Director, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for Cost Basis operations while championing innovation, process efficiency, and data-driven decision making. You will partner with Operations, Technology, Data, Risk, and Tax stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and leverage Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity, controls, and client outcomes. You will be expected to balance operational leadership with strategic thinking, helping shape the future-state operating model through technology modernization and AI adoption. You will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, enhancing client experience, and accelerating the adoption of technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions across Cost Basis processes. You are expected to work U.S. market hours to support business and stakeholder requirements. - Lead and develop a team of operations professionals responsible for Cost Basis servicing, reconciliations, exception management, and tax reporting support. - Drive operational excellence through process simplification, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Partner with global stakeholders to identify and implement scalable solutions that improve accuracy, control, and efficiency. - Leverage AI, analytics, and automation tools to optimize workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance decision-making capabilities. - Act as a change champion, fostering innovation and promoting adoption of emerging technologies across the team. - Collaborate with Technology and Data teams to define requirements and support delivery of business transformation initiatives. - Utilize data analytics and reporting to identify trends, operational risks, and process improvement opportunities. - Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements. - Develop and mentor team members while cultivating a high-performance and client-focused culture. - Provide leadership during high-pressure situations and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across business functions. **Your Career Comeback** We are open to applications from career returners. Find out more about our program on ubs.com/careercomeback. **Your team** You'll be working in the Cost Basis team in Mumbai, India, collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple locations in the U.S. This team is responsible for servicing, managing, validating, and correcting cost basis information on assets held at UBS. Through analytical research, problem solving, and partnership with global stakeholders, the team ensures accurate tax reporting and delivers exceptional support to front-office and branch partners. **Your expertise** Experience & Leadership - Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. - 10-12 years of experience in Financial Services Operations, Cost Basis, Tax Operations, Asset Servicing, or related functions. - Proven experience leading teams and managing global stakeholder relationships. - Strong leadership capability with excellent people management, coaching, and talent development skills. - Demonstrated ability to influence, drive change, and execute strategic initiatives. - Experience managing complex operational processes and delivering measurable business outcomes. Data, Technology & Automation - Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong experience in reconciliations, data management, and operational controls. - Strong understanding of workflow automation, process engineering, and business process optimization. - Experience documenting business requirements, creating process maps, and partnering with technology teams on solution delivery. - Knowledge of data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or similar platforms. - Experience working with digital transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives. AI & Emerging Technology Expertise - Demonstrated interest and practical experience leveraging AI to enhance operational processes and business outcomes. - Experience using AI-powered productivity tools such as: o Microsoft Copilot o Microsoft Copilot Studio o GitHub Copilot o ChatGPT (OpenAI) o Azure OpenAI o Google Gemini o Claude (Anthropic) o Power Automate AI capabilities - Understanding of: o Generative AI (GenAI) o Large Language Models (LLMs) o Prompt Engineering o AI Agents / Agentic AI o Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) o Intelligent Automation o Responsible AI and AI Governance - Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs, validate results, and ensure alignment with risk, compliance, and governance standards.
