**Role & responsibilities** - Evaluate and approve/recommend **used car loan applications** within defined credit authority. - Conduct detailed assessment of customer income, financial profile, bureau reports, banking transactions, repayment capacity, and overall creditworthiness. - Review and validate vehicle-related documents, valuation, ownership, registration, insurance, and other relevant documentation. - Identify potential credit risks, fraud indicators, policy deviations, and irregularities in loan applications. - Ensure adherence to the company's **credit policy, risk parameters, regulatory requirements, and approval processes**. - Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Collections, Valuation, and other teams to ensure smooth and timely loan processing. - Analyze deviations and make appropriate recommendations based on risk-return considerations. - Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency trends, and early-warning indicators within the assigned portfolio. - Conduct customer/field verification wherever required as part of the credit assessment process. - Ensure proper documentation and compliance before disbursement. - Provide guidance and support to credit officers/executives on complex cases and underwriting decisions. - Maintain turnaround time (TAT) while ensuring quality of credit decisions. - Prepare and review MIS/reports related to approvals, rejections, deviations, portfolio quality, and credit performance. - Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit observations. Key Skills & Competencies - Strong knowledge of **used car loan underwriting and credit assessment**. - Good understanding of credit bureau reports, banking analysis, income assessment, and FOIR/eligibility calculations. - Strong analytical and decision-making skills. - Ability to identify fraud risks and credit anomalies. - Good understanding of vehicle valuation and documentation processes. - Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet business TATs without compromising credit quality. - Proficiency in MS Excel and basic MIS/reporting. Eligibility - Graduate degree in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Finance/Banking will be an advantage. - **34+ years of relevant experience in credit underwriting/credit appraisal**, preferably in used car loans, auto finance, retail lending, NBFCs, banks, or financial services. - Candidates with experience handling **used vehicle finance portfolios and credit approval processes** will be preferred. - Willingness to travel for field verification/branch visits, if required.
