Note: Need Immediate Joiners **Job Title:** CUPS Printing Specialist (Industrial Label Printing) **Location:** Hyderabad **Department:** IT / Operations Technology **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled **CUPS Printing Specialist** with extensive experience in managing high-performance, mission-critical print systems within industrial environments—particularly in label printing using enterprise-grade devices such as **Zebra** , **Intermec** , and similar industrial printers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the **design, configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance** of scalable, reliable printing infrastructures powered by **CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)** . This role is essential to ensuring uninterrupted, accurate, and high-throughput label printing across warehouse, manufacturing, and logistics operations—where precision and system uptime are non-negotiable. You will collaborate closely with **operations, supply chain, and IT teams** to support end-to-end printing workflows, implement automation for routine maintenance, enforce enterprise compliance standards, and drive continuous improvement in print system reliability and performance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and deploy CUPS-based printing architectures tailored for industrial-scale label printing environments. - Configure and manage Zebra, Intermec, and other industrial printers using CUPS, LPD, IPP, and custom backend scripts. - Troubleshoot complex printing issues across Linux-based systems, including driver compatibility, network connectivity, and print spooling failures. - Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and resolve print system anomalies. - Automate printer provisioning, firmware updates, and configuration backups using scripting (Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet). - Ensure print workflows comply with enterprise security, audit, and operational standards. - Provide technical leadership and training to internal teams on print system usage and best practices. - Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to evaluate new hardware/software solutions and drive innovation in print operations. **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 5+ years of hands-on experience with **CUPS** in production Linux environments. - Proven experience managing **industrial label printers** (Zebra, Intermec, Honeywell, etc.) in high-volume, 24/7 operations. - Deep knowledge of Linux system administration, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, firewall), and print protocols (IPP, LPD, SMB). - Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, SaltStack, etc.). - Experience with printer drivers, PPD files, and custom backend development for CUPS. - Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex, time-sensitive printing outages. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
