Job description

**Company:** Qualcomm India Private Limited **Job Area:** Information Technology Group, Information Technology Group > Cyber Security Engineering **General Summary:** Your role as a member of the cyber exposure management team is to protect Qualcomm from compromises such as data breaches, hacking attempts, targeted and insider threats, and other forms of cyberattacks. Your primary responsibilities will be: conducting detailed rules reviews, executes cleanup activities, maintains SOPs, create firewall rule patterns, harden network devices and drives automation to strengthen the organization's overall network security posture both enterprise and cloud environments, and helping to find and highlight opportunities for broad or systemic improvements. You will be a security evangelist, driving company-wide environment hardening initiatives and representing the information security group throughout Qualcomm. We are a collaborative team that is always learning, sharing, and researching. You will collaborate with specialists and generalists across information security domains regularly, with a focus on cross-training with our red and blue teams. You must have broad expertise in Information Security or related fields, strong technical writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn and grow in a rapidly evolving environment. While we are looking for people who have all of the skillsets outlined in this posting, we also recognize that this is very rare. So, if you can learn these things, and you have a desire to dig in to areas you havent explored yet, this is the position for you. **Responsibilities:** - Partner with IT and business units to conduct firewall review assessments, create patterns, address stale & risky rules and validate adherence to security guidance. - Ensures firewall configurations adhere to CIS Benchmarks by applying industry-standard security controls, validating compliance and incorporating CIS recommendations into SOPs and hardening activities. - Evangelize security within Qualcomm and drive company-wide environment network security device hardening initiatives. - Provide security recommendations on existing and new applications, system, and network devices. - Establish alternative security measures to allow for business continuity while protecting the company's assets. - Develop and advise on best practices around cloud platforms. - Track security findings to closure in a timely manner by partnering with business units, communicating solutions, and verifying remediation. - Act as a mentor and provide guidance and technical leadership to other staff members. All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company. **Minimum Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field and 5+ years of experience in IT, Cyber Security, or related area. - Or high school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of cybersecurity-relevant work experience. **Experience and Education:** - 5+ years of experience in IT, Cyber Security, or related area. - 3+ years of experience with Firewall & Network Security Hardening (CIS Benchmark) - 4+ years of experience in conducting detailed rules reviews, executes cleanup activities and develop SOPs. - 2+ years hands-on experience with major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP.) - 2+ years of leadership role in projects/programs. - Candidate should possess good knowledge of AI capabilities and their security implications, including associated threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
