**1. Position Details** - **Role Title:** Data Architect - **Employment Type:** Full-Time - **Experience Range:** 10 + yrs **2. Role Purpose** The Data Architect will be responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end data architecture. The role will ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across Snowflake, Coalesce ETL, and BI platforms while aligning with business objectives and delivery timelines. This position plays a critical role in ensuring technical excellence, minimizing rework, and enabling seamless coordination across ETL, BI, and CI/CD workstreams. **3. Key Responsibilities** **3.1 Architecture & Solution Design** - Define and own overall **enterprise data architecture** for EDW modernization. - Design **Data Vault 2.0 models (Hubs, Links, Satellites)**. - Establish **Snowflake architecture standards**, including performance and cost optimization. - Define **data flows across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers**. **3.2 ETL & Data Engineering Leadership** - Provide technical direction for **Coalesce ETL implementation**. - Standardize ETL frameworks, naming conventions, and reusable components. - Validate: - Source-to-target mappings - CDC implementation - Incremental load strategies - Support resolution of **critical development blockers**. **3.3 DevOps & CI/CD Governance** - Define and enforce **CI/CD best practices (GitHub/Azure DevOps)**. - Ensure proper **code promotion across environments (Dev, QA, Prod)**. - Establish deployment controls to prevent **unauthorized or unstable changes**. - Guide teams on **rollback, versioning, and branching strategies**. **3.4 Data Quality & Validation** - Define **data validation and reconciliation frameworks**. - Ensure **consistency between legacy systems and modern EDW**. - Implement audit and control mechanisms to ensure data accuracy. **3.5 BI & Reporting Alignment** - Ensure EDW is aligned with **Power BI reporting requirements**. - Support migration from **Cognos to Power BI**. - Define standards for: - Semantic layer design - Report performance optimization **3.6 Stakeholder Management** - Act as primary **technical SME for onsite/offshore coordination**. - Lead architecture discussions with **business and technical stakeholders**. - Provide inputs on: - Estimation - Risk and dependency tracking - Ensure alignment across teams during **critical delivery phases (UAT, Go-live)**. **3.7 Governance, Risk & Escalations** - Identify and address **technical risks proactively**. - Support RAID management with **clear technical insights**. - Lead resolution during escalations with **root cause analysis**. - Ensure adherence to **program governance standards**. **4. Required Competencies** **4.1 Technical Skills** - Expertise in: - **Snowflake Data Warehouse** - **Data Vault 2.0 modeling** - **Coalesce ETL (preferred)** or similar ELT tools (Informatica, SSIS) - Strong knowledge of: - Data Warehousing & Dimensional Modeling - CDC (Change Data Capture) - SQL and performance tuning - Experience with: - **CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps)** - Deployment and version control strategies - Exposure to: - **Power BI / modern BI tools** - Cognos (preferred for migration context) **4.2 Behavioral Competencies** - Strong **ownership and accountability mindset**. - Ability to work under **high-pressure delivery timelines**. - Excellent **problem-solving and analytical skills**. - Strong **communication and stakeholder management** skills. - Ability to **drive alignment across multiple teams**. **5. Good to Have** - Experience in **Mortgage / Insurance / Financial Services domain**. - Exposure to: - Sigma / Cortex - Advanced analytics platforms - Experience in **large-scale legacy modernization programs**. **7.
