As an Data Engineer at Kyndryl, you’ll be the architect behind the high-performance data infrastructure that powers our autonomous systems. We aren't just moving tables; we’re building the real-time pipelines that allow agentic AI to reason over the world’s most complex enterprise environments. Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product. You will have the opportunity to architect the solution, test the code, and deploy and build a CI/CD pipeline for it. And finally, you’re open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others. **Required Skills and Experience** - Programming (Python) - Strong working knowledge of Python for building and maintaining data pipelines - Ability to write clean, efficient, and testable code - Data Engineering Fundamentals - Experience building or supporting data pipelines and ingestion processes - Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling concepts - Cloud & Platform Knowledge (AWS) - Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. Networking, IAM, Glue, S3, Lambda, Firehose, RDS, Event Bridge, Cloudwatch) - Understanding of how data flows across distributed systems - CI/CD & Deployment - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab) - Understanding of build, test, and deployment workflows - Problem Solving & Debugging - Ability to investigate issues using logs, documentation, and prior solutions - Can propose solutions rather than only raising questions - Ownership & Delivery - Takes tasks from start to finish and follows through to completion - Works independently while escalating appropriately - Communication & Collaboration - Provides clear, structured updates on progress and blockers - Actively contributes to team discussions and shared problem-solving - Attention to Detail - Validates outputs, tests pipelines, and ensures completeness before review - Produces work with minimal rework required - Infrastructure as Code & Security - Experience with Terraform and tools such as tfsec - Awareness of infrastructure security and best practices **Preferred Skills & Experience** - Data Platforms (Highly Desirable) - Experience with Teradata and/or Starburst - Understanding of querying large-scale datasets and distributed query engines - Data Integration Tools & APIs - Familiarity with tools such as Fivetran and data sources like Salesforce - Understanding of API-based data ingestion and integration patterns - Operational Awareness - Experience monitoring systems (e.g. AWS Health, incident logs) - Ability to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements - Performance & Cost Optimisation - Awareness of cloud cost drivers (e.g. RDS, storage) and optimisation approaches - Scala - Experience working with Scala in data processing or pipeline development **Being You** The “Kyn” in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
