Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled **Data Governance Analyst (Data Specialist)** to join our **GFS Strategy** -**Global Finance Services Division.** The Data Governance Analyst supports enterprise data governance framework and governance model. Also helps in defining and executing data policy, standards, and procedures, along with maintaining finance glossary and data catalog. The role partners with business, data, technology, risk, compliance, and analytics teams to improve data trust, discoverability, quality, ownership, lineage, and controlled use across priority data assets. The preference for this role is to be based out of **Bangalore-Shared Services, Whitefield -KA** **What you will do** - Execute enterprise data governance programs, including data ownership, stewardship, issue management, controls, and policy adoption across critical data domains. - Manage and maintain metadata, business glossaries, data catalogs, classifications, and data lineage to improve data discoverability and trust. - Define, monitor, and support data quality rules, KPIs, and remediation activities to ensure accurate and reliable business data. - Partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technology teams to document requirements, validate data definitions, and support governance initiatives. - Support governance of cloud data platforms, data products, reporting assets, and analytics environments by ensuring compliance with governance standards. - Maintain governance documentation, control evidence, audit artifacts, and compliance records related to data management and regulatory requirements. - Facilitate governance forums, working sessions, and stakeholder workshops to drive issue resolution, accountability, and adoption of governance practices. - Develop governance playbooks, training materials, user guides, and process documentation to support organizational adoption. - Monitor governance metrics, metadata completeness, data quality trends, and stewardship activities, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. - Collaborate with risk, compliance, privacy, security, and audit teams to support data governance, data privacy, and responsible AI initiatives. **What you will have** - 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, or related disciplines. - Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data lineage, business glossaries, and data quality principles. - Experience with data governance and catalog tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or similar platforms. - Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, BI/reporting solutions, and analytics ecosystems. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and problem-solving skills. - Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field. - **Additional Information:** **This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office** **Preferred Qualifications:** - DAMA CDMP or equivalent certification - Alation data cataloger certification **Skills desired:** **Value Realization:** Knowledge of value realization methods; ability to plan, execute, monitor and manage business activities and resources to determine and achieve the actual value from a business initiative as estimated in an associated business case. Level Basic Understanding: - Describes the importance of Value Realization milestones for long-term projects. - Assists in measuring and attaining post-project implementation value. - Identifies process changes or business value integration in change initiative plans and activities. - Contributes to project team communication regarding the linkage of a change initiative to its associated business goals and case. **Communicating Complex Concepts:** Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience. Level Working Knowledge: - Uses comparisons to familiar ideas when introducing a technical or novel feature. - Separates fundamental concepts from supporting details in explaining a product or service. - Explains products and services with little or no use of technical jargon or advanced vocabulary. - Emphasizes the most important facts or features of a product or service. - Perceives lack of audience comprehension; further simplifies explanation when needed. **Agile Development:** Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications. Level Working Knowledge: - Explains a specific agile process and its associated checkpoints and deliv
