The role will work with new and existing data sources to create reliable reporting outputs, automated data flows and clear visualisations that help Legal and Co-Sec business users understand performance, identify trends and make informed decisions. The Data Specialist will use strong analytical judgement, business understanding and appropriate AI tools to explore data, test hypotheses, surface insights and improve the quality and speed of reporting. The role is expected to translate complex data into practical, decision-ready outputs, support stakeholders in using dashboards and reports effectively, and continuously improve reporting processes for accuracy, efficiency and usability. The role must also uphold the Bank's data policies, standards and controls day to day, including the data stewardship expectations of Legal and Co-Sec, to protect data integrity, quality, security and trust. Key Responsibilities Strategy * Partner with Legal, Co-Sec and key function stakeholders to shape reporting, management information and data insight products that support strategic planning, governance and operational decision making. Business * Own the business engagement for reporting and insight requirements, translating user needs into clear data, dashboard and report specifications. * Produce clear visualisations, dashboards and reports that help business users understand trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers. * Use data analysis and AI-enabled techniques to generate practical insights that improve decision making, governance and prioritisation. Processes * Own the end-to-end reporting and management information lifecycle, from data intake, requirements gathering and source assessment through to data preparation, analysis, visualisation, deployment and ongoing improvement. * Set up, maintain and improve data pipelines from new and existing data sources, working with data engineers or technology partners where required to ensure reporting outputs are reliable, repeatable and controlled. * Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities, and convert findings into clear business recommendations. * Design, build and maintain dashboards, management information packs and reporting products that are accurate, easy to use and aligned to stakeholder needs. * Use Copilot and other approved AI tools to support data exploration, insight generation, narrative reporting and process efficiency, while applying appropriate review, validation and control. * Continuously improve reporting processes by identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, standardisation and better user experience. * Ensure timely delivery, agreed service levels, strong data accuracy, appropriate documentation and secure handling of data across all reporting activities. * Train and support business users so they can use dashboards, reports and insights confidently and consistently. Governance * Uphold Legal and Co-Sec data stewardship expectations by maintaining clear ownership, data definitions, quality checks and consistent reporting standards. * Ensure reporting outputs are transparent, auditable and supported by appropriate documentation, controls and evidence of validation. * Escalate material data quality, control, regulatory or conduct issues promptly and support timely remediation.
