**Your Role and Responsibilities:** As a Delivery Consultant specializing in Technology Expert Labs for Databases within IBM's Data Platform, you will provide clients with world-class services to optimize the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of their Databases. This role involves working with various database technologies, including Cloudera & Hadoop, DataStax, Db2, Elastic, EnterpriseDB, Informix, MongoDB, Netezza, and SingleStore. **Your primary responsibilities will include:** Implement Database Solutions: Deliver expert services to optimize database configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis for clients, ensuring seamless integration and maximum efficiency. Support Client Adoption: Collaborate with clients to understand their database needs and provide tailored solutions to drive adoption and effective usage of database technologies. Analyze Database Performance: Apply expertise to analyze database performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance overall database efficiency. Deliver World-Class Services: Provide exceptional services to clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and exceeding client expectations in database management and optimization. **Required Education:** Bachelor's Degree **Required Technical and Professional Expertise:** \\*\\*Db2 Expertise (Required)\\*\\* -6-10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Db2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) - Strong knowledge of Db2 11.5 and 11.1 - Proficiency in Db2 CLP (Command Line Processor) and SQL - Experience with Db2 installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures - Understanding of Db2 architecture, memory management, and storage structures \\*\\*Operating Systems\\*\\* - Strong Linux/Unix administration skills (RHEL, SUSE, AIX preferred) - Experience with shell scripting (bash, ksh, perl) for automation - Windows Server administration experience (nice to have) \\*\\*Database Skills\\*\\* - Advanced SQL programming and query optimization - Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions - Knowledge of database design principles and normalization - Understanding of ACID properties and transaction management \\*\\*Tools & Technologies\\*\\* - IBM Data Studio or IBM Data Management Console - db2top, db2pd, db2support diagnostic tools - Monitoring tools (IBM Tivoli, Nagios, or similar) - Version control systems (Git, SVN) - Ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA) **Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:** ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Db2 HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) configuration and management - Knowledge of Db2 pureScale clustering technology - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS for Db2, Azure, IBM Cloud) - Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines - Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) - Knowledge of other database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) - Experience with data replication tools (IBM InfoSphere CDC, Q Replication) - Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes - Experience with Db2 Warehouse or Db2 Big SQL ### Certifications (Preferred) - IBM Certified Database Administrator - Db2 11.5 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows - IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator - Db2 11.5 - Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) - ITIL Foundation certification ### Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong documentation skills - Ability to work under pressure during critical outages - Time management and prioritization skills - Customer service orientation ****Years of Experience:**** 6 - 10
