Job description

**Responsibilities** Fire Protection & Emergency Preparedness - Ensure operational readiness of fire detection, alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, foam, gas suppression, and firefighting systems. - Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance monitoring of firefighting equipment and facilities. - Develop and execute emergency response plans, disaster management plans, and evacuation procedures. - Organize and conduct mock drills for fire emergencies and other emergency scenarios. Safety Management - Implement site safety policies, procedures, and standards in line with statutory and organizational requirements. - Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for plant and project activities. - Monitor safe work practices during construction, erection, commissioning, and operational activities. - Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Work at Height, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Electrical Safety procedures. Incident Investigation & Compliance - Investigate fire incidents, accidents, and near-miss events and recommend corrective and preventive actions. - Maintain compliance with Factory Act, National Building Code (NBC), Petroleum Rules, and other applicable statutory requirements. - Support internal and external safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations. Training & Awareness - Conduct Fire & Safety induction programs for employees, contractors, and visitors. - Organize awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. - Develop competency levels of emergency response teams and firefighting personnel. Contractor Safety Management - Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure adherence to project safety requirements. - Conduct contractor safety audits and inspections. - Ensure compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices at site. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain records related to fire incidents, emergency drills, inspections, audits, training, and statutory requirements. - Prepare MIS reports, safety performance reports, and management presentations. **Qualifications** - Minimum 4+ years of experience in Fire & Safety within Thermal Power Plants, Power Projects, Heavy Engineering, Steel or Process Industries. - Hands-on experience in fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, and industrial safety management. - Sound knowledge of statutory safety regulations and fire safety standards. - Experience in safety audits, incident investigations, and contractor safety management. - Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team coordination skills.
