**Job Description: Head – Design (ELV, Networking & Cabling Systems)** **Company:** HyperVault Data Centers **Role:** Head – Design (ELV, Networking & Cabling) **Location:** Mumbai **Department:** Engineering & Design **Reports to:** VP/Head of Engineering **Role Summary** The **Head – Design (ELV, Networking & Cabling Systems)** is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, leading, and governing the complete ELV, ICT, networking, and structured cabling design for HyperVault’s AI‑optimized hyperscale data centers. This role ensures that all network and ELV systems are engineered to hyperscaler standards, designed for ultra‑high availability, and capable of supporting next‑generation AI workloads, high‑density GPU clusters, and rapid scale-out requirements. **Key Responsibilities** **1. ELV, ICT & Network Design Leadership** - Define the overall design strategy for ELV, ICT, and network infrastructure across all HyperVault campuses. - Develop standard design templates, reference architectures, and modular deployment designs. - Set HyperVault’s design standards for cabling, network rooms, SCC/CCR, FOC layouts, BMS, security systems, and more. - Ensure alignment with hyperscaler requirements (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc.) and AI‑specific networking needs. **2. End‑to‑End ELV & Network System Design** Lead conceptual, schematic, and detailed design for: **Networking & Cabling Systems** - Structured cabling systems (Cat6A, Cat7, Fiber – SM/MM) - High‑density cabling for AI/GPU clusters - Core, aggregation & access layers of the data center network (infrastructure only) - Meet‑Me Room (MMR) design - MDF/IDF room layouts as applicable - Cable containment systems (tray, ladder, basket, overhead/underfloor systems) **ELV & Security Systems** - Access control, CCTV, video surveillance systems - Fire alarm & detection systems - PA systems and emergency communication - Intrusion detection, perimeter security systems - Data center monitoring systems (DCIM/EPMS/BMS integration points) **BMS & Monitoring** - Specification of BMS architecture, integration points for mechanical/electrical systems - Network architecture for controls & monitoring systems - SCADA/PLC architecture for utility systems (if applicable) **3. Network Room & Pathway Design** - Design MMRs, edge rooms, telecom rooms, IDF/MDF, and backbone pathways to hyperscaler specifications. - Ensure diverse fiber paths, dual entry, and full physical redundancy. - Plan for high-density fiber termination, ODF design, patching frames, and cross-connect layouts. - Incorporate future scalability for AI workloads including high‑bandwidth interconnects. **4. Coordination With Mechanical, Electrical & CSA Teams** - Ensure ELV/network designs integrate seamlessly with cooling, electrical, and architectural layouts. - Manage BIM/Revit-based interdisciplinary coordination and clash resolution. - Work closely with hyperscaler technical teams for interface compliance. **5. Vendor, Consultant & OEM Management** - Shortlist, evaluate, and manage telecom, cabling, ELV, BMS, and security system vendors. - Review detailed design submissions, material specifications, NOC/SOC design packages, and FAT protocols. - Oversee partner compliance with design quality, testing, and commissioning standards. **6. Compliance, Standards & Quality Assurance** - Ensure full compliance with: - TIA-942 (cabling, telecom rooms, pathway design) - BICSI standards (DD102, TDMM, DCDC, etc.) - ISO/IEC cabling standards - Local fire & safety compliance - Hyperscaler-specific ICT/ELV design specifications - Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, cyber-physical integration evaluations. **7. Innovation, Optimization & AI-Ready Designs** - Drive adoption of next-gen technologies including: - High-density fiber management - Automated DCIM & telemetry platforms - Software-defined infrastructure readiness - IP-based architecture for security/ELV systems - Zero-trust physical security design considerations - Optimize design for OPEX reduction, performance, energy efficiency, and availability. **8. Stakeholder & Client Engagement** - Act as the primary owner for ELV/network discussions with hyperscaler customers. - Lead technical presentations, HLD/LLD reviews, and design approval cycles. - Provide leadership updates, risk summaries, and design progression reports. **Required Qualifications & Experience** **Education** - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering (mandatory). - Master’s degree in Networking, ICT, or related fields (preferred). - Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, CDCDP, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, PMP, or equivalent are strong advantages. **Experience** - 8 - 12+ years in ELV/network/cabling design for data centers, telecom facilities, mission-critical infrastructure, or hyperscale tech environments. - Experience designing hyperscale data centers (10–100+ MW) strongly preferred. - Deep understanding of hyperscaler design standards (AWS, GCP, Azure, Meta). - Strong experience with structured cabling and high-density fiber installations for AI clusters. **Technical & Leadership Competencies** **Technical Skills** - Expert understanding of structured cabling systems, ODF design, MMR architecture. - Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals for data center environments (non-operational layer). - Proficiency in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Visio, fiber design tools. - Knowledge of DCIM/EPMS/BMS integration architectures. - Familiarity with cyber-physical security operations and resilience. **Leadership & Behavioural Skills** - Strong leadership and team management capabilities. - Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration. - Strategic thinking with hands-on design problem-solving. - Ability to operate in high-growth, fast-paced build environments.
