Job description

**Position Description:** The DevOps SRE Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the CI/CD infrastructure, deployment automation, and operational reliability practices for applications running on the Fabric platform. The role bridges development and operations combining strong Azure DevOps pipeline engineering for .NET applications with a Site Reliability Engineering approach to operational excellence. The engineer will champion automation, observability, and reliability across the platform, working to reduce manual toil and improve system resilience. This role sits within the Platform Engineering team and works closely with application development teams, cloud infrastructure engineers, and solution architects. **Your future duties and responsibilities:** Responsibilities: - CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for .NET Core applications and containerized services - Implement multi-stage YAML pipeline definitions for build, test, security scanning, and deployment stages - Manage pipeline templates, variable groups, environments, and approval gates across all deployment tiers - Integrate static code analysis, unit testing, and container image scanning into pipeline workflows - Support containerized application delivery to AKS environments, managing Helm-based deployments via pipelines - Release Deployment Management: Define and enforce release branching strategies, tagging conventions, and versioning standards - Implement progressive delivery patterns: blue-green deployments, canary releases, and feature flag integrations - Manage deployment approval workflows, change management integration, and release gates - Develop and test rollback strategies and deployment recovery procedures - Maintain environment-specific configuration management and secrets injection patterns - Observability Platform Reliability: Design and implement monitoring strategies using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics - Build and maintain operational dashboards covering availability, latency, error rates, and saturation metrics - Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for critical services - Establish error budget policies and reliability review cadences - Configure alerting rules, notification routing, and on-call escalation integrations - Incident Management Operational Improvement: Act as a key responder for platform and application incidents; lead or support root cause analysis processes - Produce post-incident reviews (PIRs) and drive remediation actions to completion - Identify and eliminate operational toil through automation: self-healing scripts, runbook automation, and event-driven recovery - Track and report on reliability metrics and operational maturity improvements over time - Developer Enablement DevOps Culture: Provide guidance and hands-on support to application teams adopting Azure DevOps and CI/CD best practices - Run pipeline onboarding sessions for new services joining the Fabric platform - Document pipeline standards, deployment patterns, and operational runbooks - Contribute to DevOps maturity assessments and continuous improvement planning **Required qualifications to be successful in this role:** Must-Have Skills: Competency Expected Behavior - Outcome Pipeline Excellence - Builds well-structured, maintainable Azure DevOps pipelines that are fast, reliable, and easy to extend Reliability Focus - Apply SRE principles to define measurable reliability targets and continuously improve service stability Automation Mindset - Proactively identifies manual processes and replaces them with reliable, tested automation Incident Ownership - Responds calmly and effectively during incidents; drives thorough post-incident analysis and follow-through Developer Partnership - Works collaboratively with development teams; communicates clearly and enables others to self-serve Good-to-Have Skills: Application Development Teams - Pipeline design, deployment support, DevOps adoption, and developer enablement Cloud / Kubernetes Engineers - AKS deployment integration, container delivery patterns, and infrastructure alignment Solution Architects - Platform architecture alignment, reliability design, and release strategy discussions Security Compliance - Pipeline security scanning, secrets management, and compliance gate integration **Skills:** - ASP.NET Core - Azure - Azure DevOps - Banking - Digital Banking - Release Management - Yaml - Communication - Deployment Automation
