Position Description DevOps Lead (.NET Core | Azure DevOps | Site Reliability Engineering) Role Overview The DevOps SRE Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational excellence of CI/CD platforms, cloud-native deployment strategies, and Site Reliability Engineering practices across enterprise applications running. The role combines deep technical expertise in Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, automation, and observability with leadership responsibilities focused on governance, reliability strategy, operational maturity, and team enablement. The DevOps SRE Lead will drive platform reliability initiatives, define engineering standards, mentor DevOps and SRE engineers, and collaborate closely with development teams, cloud infrastructure teams, security, and solution architects to ensure highly resilient, scalable, and secure platform operations. Your future duties and responsibilities: **Detailed Responsibilities** 1. **DevOps Platform CI/CD Leadership** Lead the architecture, implementation, and governance of enterprise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for .NET Core and containerized workloads Define and standardize reusable YAML pipeline frameworks, deployment templates, and DevOps best practices Establish enterprise release standards, branching strategies, approval workflows, and deployment governance Drive automation initiatives for build, testing, security scanning, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning Provide technical leadership for AKS deployment strategies, Helm deployments, and GitOps integration patterns 2. **Site Reliability Engineering Operational Excellence** Define and implement SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability scorecards Lead platform reliability reviews and operational readiness assessments for critical services Drive observability strategy using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Prometheus, and Grafana Establish enterprise monitoring standards, operational dashboards, and intelligent alerting mechanisms Lead capacity planning, resilience testing, failover validation, and disaster recovery readiness exercises 3. **Incident Management Service Continuity** Act as the technical lead during major incidents and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts Lead root cause analysis sessions and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented Drive continuous operational improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and eliminate operational toil Implement self-healing automation, automated recovery workflows, and operational runbook orchestration Monitor reliability KPIs and operational maturity metrics, providing regular reporting to leadership 4. **Leadership, Governance Team Enablement** Mentor and guide DevOps and SRE engineers in platform engineering best practices and operational excellence Establish DevOps governance models, standards, compliance controls, and engineering quality benchmarks Partner with application development teams to accelerate DevOps adoption and self-service enablement Lead onboarding activities for new services and ensure alignment with platform reliability standards Drive continuous improvement programs, DevOps maturity assessments, and engineering transformation initiatives 5. **Security, Compliance Risk Management** Ensure secure DevOps practices through integrated security scanning, secrets management, and policy enforcement Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement governance controls within pipelines and deployments Drive vulnerability remediation, compliance automation, and audit readiness activities Define and maintain platform operational policies, escalation models, and change management procedures Support enterprise risk management initiatives related to availability, reliability, and operational resilience Competency Framework **Competency** Expected Behavior / Outcome **Technical Leadership** Provides strategic direction and technical leadership across DevOps and SRE practices **Reliability Engineering** Drives measurable improvements in service reliability, scalability, and operational resilience **Automation Excellence** Champions automation-first approaches to reduce operational toil and improve efficiency **Incident Leadership** Leads high-severity incident management with calm decision-making and accountability **Collaboration Mentorship** Builds strong partnerships across teams while mentoring engineers and enabling self-service Key Relationships **Stakeholder** Engagement Focus Application Development Teams - DevOps adoption, CI/CD modernization, deployment enablement, and operational support Cloud / Kubernetes Engineers - AKS platform integration, infrastructure reliability, scalability, and deployment strategy Solution Architects - Platform alignment, reliability architecture, resilience design, and modernization initiatives Security Compliance - Secure DevOps implementation, governance controls, compliance automation, and audit readiness Engineering Leadership - Operational reporting, reliability metrics, strategic planning, and transformation initiatives Required qualifications to be successful in this role: **Must-Have Skills:** Competency Expected Behavior - Outcome - Pipeline Excellence - Builds well-structured, maintainable Azure DevOps pipelines that are fast, reliable, and easy to extend - Reliability Focus - Apply SRE principles to define measurable reliability targets and continuously improve service stability - Automation Mindset - Proactively identifies manual processes and replaces them with reliable, tested automation - Incident Ownership - Responds calmly and effectively during incidents; drives thorough post-incident analysis and follow-through - Developer Partnership - Works collaboratively with development teams; communicates clearly
