**Job Description (JD) – Diagnostic SME (Subject Matter Expert)** **Position Title** **Diagnostic SME – Automotive Diagnostics / ODX Specialist** **Experience** **8–15 Years** **Location** Pune **Role Overview** We are seeking an experienced **Diagnostic SME** with strong expertise in **Automotive Diagnostics, UDS Protocol, ODX/PDX Authoring, ECU Diagnostic Functions, and Diagnostic Compliance Processes** . The candidate will work closely with OEM stakeholders, suppliers, diagnostics engineers, and software development teams to define, review, validate, and manage diagnostic data and diagnostic authoring workflows **Key Responsibilities** **Diagnostic Requirements & Analysis** - Analyze and understand OEM diagnostic specifications and requirements. - Collect, review, and clarify diagnostic requirements with OEM teams. - Define diagnostic architecture for ECU diagnostics implementation. - Support requirement decomposition and traceability. **ODX/PDX Authoring & Management** - Create, review, and maintain ODX files (ODX-D, ODX-C, ODX-F). - Manage PDX package generation and validation. - Define diagnostic authoring standards, templates, and best practices. - Review supplier-submitted diagnostic data for compliance. **UDS Diagnostics Expertise** - Strong knowledge of ISO 14229 (UDS). - Configure and validate: - Diagnostic Sessions - Security Access - Data Identifiers (DIDs) - Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) - Routine Controls - Input Output Controls - Communication Controls - ECU Reset Services **Diagnostic Compliance Management** - Ensure compliance with OEM diagnostic guidelines. - Support compliance review and sign-off processes. - Conduct diagnostic audits and quality reviews. - Define validation rules and compliance checklists. **Stakeholder Coordination** - Coordinate with OEM teams, CoCs, suppliers, and validation teams. - Conduct technical discussions and requirement workshops. - Support issue resolution during development and validation activities. - Review change requests and impact assessments. **Validation & Testing Support** - Support diagnostics validation planning. - Review test cases and validation reports. - Analyze diagnostic communication logs. - Assist in troubleshooting diagnostic issues. **Tool & Process Support** - Support diagnostic authoring tools and workflows. - Define diagnostic data management processes. - Support automation initiatives for diagnostics data processing. **Required Technical Skills** **Automotive Diagnostics** - UDS (ISO 14229) - ISO 15765 (CAN Transport Protocol) - CAN / CAN FD - DoIP (ISO 13400) - J1939 (preferred) **ASAM Standards** - ODX (ISO 22901) - PDX Packaging - OTX (Preferred) - MVCI Concepts **Diagnostic Data Expertise** - DID Authoring - DTC Authoring - NRC Definitions - Routine Control Authoring - Flash Programming Concepts - Variant Management **Tools** - Vector CANoe - CANalyzer - ODX Studio
