The candidate should have hands-on experience in designing automotive press tools and be proficient in Siemens NX and CATIA. The role involves complete tool design activities from concept to manufacturing support. Key Responsibilities •Design and development of sheet metal press tools such as: o Blanking tools o Piercing tools o Progressive tools o Forming and drawing tools • Preparation of complete tool design layouts and detailed drawings • Tool feasibility study based on part geometry and manufacturing requirements • Die design activities including: o Strip layout preparation o Tool construction details o Die assembly drawings • Coordination with: o Manufacturing and tool shop teams o Quality and production departments • Supporting tool manufacturing, trials, and tool modifications • Ensuring designs comply with customer standards and internal design guidelines • Handling design changes and implementation of engineering modifications Software Skills • Siemens NX (Mandatory) – Tool design, detailing, and assemblies • CATIA (Mandatory) – Part analysis and tool design support • Knowledge of 2D drafting standards and GD&T is preferred Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes • Understanding of press tool components and tool steels • Awareness of tolerances, fits, and machining processes • Experience in automotive press tool design is preferred Education • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Desired Competencies • Good analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently on assigned tools • Effective communication and coordination skills • Willingness to take ownership of design deliverables Experience Preference • Exposure to automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier projects is an added advantage
